View Full Version : D500 - Which cable Serial or USB?

im looking to buy a D500 datacable to unlock and flash etc.. is there any limitations of the USB one with the FTDI chip? can it do everything the serial one can? has anyone had any problems with it?? theres only a few pounds between them.. and id rather get the better cable..

sorry guy you need a "true " flashing cable to unlock or flash a d500. you can tell a flashing cable because it has a 9v batt connecter leading from the phone plug. and of cause a rs232 d type plug

i have bought the serial version..even though there is a USB version available..

I use the USB cable with FDTI chip. No limitations!!

Did a full TFS + BIN flash in only 17 minutes.

Believe whatever you want but boboboy you say things you do not know for sure.

I have the USB fdti cable and it works!!!
