hmm, well, try calling customer service. they can probably do it for you. if not... then bring your phone and SIM to another cingular retailer. I beleive you can activate it online, too, but I'm not sure. hope this will help

Yeah, you can probably buy a Cingular 64k SmartSIM off ebay, then take it with the phone into a Cingular dealer and they can activate it for you.

The local Cingular dealer gave me one of those SIMs when I was trying to unlock my 6800 to get it to work on Cingular. If you put it in the phone without the phone being unlocked you get an error message. Once the phone is unlocked, no more error message, but it won't work until it's activated on their network. Once I got my phone unlocked, I took it, with the SIM he gave me, back to the store and walked out a few minutes later with it up and running.

are you activating the SIM card on an existing account? or creating a NEW account? if its for a NEW account, then you need to do a credit check & go on a monthly plan or prepaid, etc... lots of work, get the sales rep to do it. if your just transfering off your old SIM card and switching to the new one, Cingular can do it over the phone
