View Full Version : How to unlock 3220b or 6020

I hope somebody have a detailed and working procedure to unlock any of these models.

A lot of people says that you can do it by using the nokiafree calc and the asic 2 + original codes, but the thing is that when you remove the sim card and turn the phone on, the code doesn't work it just stays in the screen.

And when you put another provider sim, the phone asks to undo the restriction, and the codes generated by the calc neither works here, i think it's another format or codes.

I don't know if it's possible to unlock using a datacable CA-42 and some software

Any help would be appreciated.

Joe

Of course i'm typing the full code #pw+code+# and it just stays in the darn screen :/

The 6020 isnt an upgrade of 6010, but the OS is similar to 3220b, also it have the same failure to unlock.

Nokia 6020 (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,64800,00.html)

I have now a datacable CA42 but i haven't find any software to unlock yet.

Put a sim card from a different provider in and when it asks for you code enter it then.

Are you Joke-ing? in my first post i said:

<i>And when you put another provider sim, the phone asks to undo the restriction, and the codes generated by the calc neither works here, i think it's another format or codes.</i>

I'm starting to believe that only the mythbusters could solve this mistery... lol

My case is similiar, after I put the code in on the phone, nothing happens, it just sits there, and if I press the 'call' button, it will tell me it's for 'emergency call' only

This new models from nokia 3220b and 6020b, have a new protection, and only can be unlocked with the provider codes, or a especial box (prodigy,griffin,etc..) you can't do it by using a DCT4 Calculator or a data cable.

So i have two myths solved:

The data cable is just for data transfer not for unlocking
You can't unlock new 'B' models with a simple calculator (pw codes)

PS: I have paid for unlocking my phone and now i can use with any sim card.

I just unlocked a 3220b from Tmobile Fl using the free calculator on this site. The code was generated using asic 6 and tmobile usa and nokia 3200 for the model. The newer model phone did not take the unlock code with no sim card inserted. Using another provider sim card caused the request for the unlock code to come up. I used code 7 to unlock. I was able to get the same unlock codes with other calculators by using a box code of 32821 to generate the asic 6 code. I had always entered the unlock codes with no sim card in the phone previously. With this newer model that procedure gives no response and does not use an attempt.

The asic 6 code seems to be the asic 2 code with 1 added to the first number and 1 subtracted from the 5th number.
No datacable or unlock box was required.

This statement is not correct.

Actually it is very simple, you just enter the code with the original providers SIM card IN the phone, not out as the instructions state.

This is not a new problem, the old 8310 displayed the same thing, they just do not accept a code if there is no SIM card present.

Thanks to the info in this link I was able to unlock a nokia 6020 which was locked to uk vodafone.
I used cruxcalc set as 3220 asic2 and asic6 adjustment to codes.
With the original provider sim in the phone entered #+pw+code+1# and restriction off!!

I tried three times but on fourth(and final before paying!) attempt I used the crux calc as you did above with model set to 3220(RH-37) instead of DCT-4. I tried the first code +1# but on second attempt with this calculator i tried code +7# and succes phone restriction off! With the sim still in the phone. :-) Thanks a lot graham.

There really is no helping some people. Sure I read your first post, but I was pointing our where you are going wrong, or perhaps you did not read mine!

The code will not be accepted without a SIM card in place, even if the code is correct. It has nothing to do with the calculator.

Either

1 (Recommended). Place the original carriers SIM card in the phone and enter the code,

or 2 (Not recommended). place a non-accepted SIM card in the phone so that it states "Phone Restricted" then press undo, then enter the full code #pw+..+1#

3220 : select model DCT4
then select asic type 2
then select manualy box 32821 (ASIC-6)
(Try code 5 first as sometimes 1 and 7 dont work)

Codes 1 and 7 didnt work for a customer so read on the forum to try code 5 so he did with success.

I have a 3220b from T-mobile in USA. Used the nokiafree calculator, with network 31020, GEN: asic 6 and Nokia Model: ASIC 2.

Didn't accept code without a SIM. So I put in a non-accepted SIM, then pressed the button to enter the code. Entered code #7, and it worked on the first try.

I am NOT nor have I ever SPAMMED, so please do not be so quick to hang a label on me. If you read the three posts you would see I was adding my 2cents worth to related posts.

If you are interested in my posts then why not read this one http://nokiafree.org/forums/t75535/h/s.html and perhaps you might be able to shed some light on it.

I try using Wanwiz method and it actually work out for me and I get my phones from a T-mobile wholesaler because I am a dealer. I put a cingular sim card in there and then use the calculator for 3200 with Asic2 and Asic6 then use the fifth unlock code and it unlock the phone for me.

I have found these forums *extremely* helpful and would like to return the favor. I was having trouble unlocking a Nokia 3220b, RH-49 from Cingular. Based on posts here and previous experience, here's what I did:

1) Contrary to other models, you will need to keep the SIM *in* the 3220b in order for it to accept the code.
2) Nokiafree Calculator v3.10, in EXPERT MODE, select 3220 (RH-37)
3) Service provider in my case was Cingular, 31017000
4) Selected 'Asic 2' in the first drop down box.
5) Selected 'Asic 6' in the second drop down box. The code shown comes up as '32821'.
6) Got the list of unlock codes. I used #7 and it worked perfectly the first time.

Hope this helps.

My roommate just got the 3220b from T-Mobile in the mail today from Amazon. We live in California. I used the NokiaFreeCalculator v3.10, left his SIM in the phone, set it all up like listed below in the quote, used the 1st code, and wahla! An unlocked T-Mobile 3220b. Thanks guys.

I have new 3220b that only allows coe entry with sim card installed. Tried to read the posts concerning this, but getting very confused newbie. What selections do I use for Network:, Gen:, and Nokia Model: on the auto calculator on this site?? The phone is Cingular (USA), trying to unlock for use with T-mobile card. I don't see Cingular in the network selection. I don't know what to use for Gen, and I don't see 3220b in the Nokia model selection.

Figured it out. I have a 3320b that was supposed to be Cingular. The product code 0519644 is a cingular product code. It wouldn't work with the Cingular sim card. To unlock...use the online calculator at http://unlock.nokiafree.org/. Put the sim card into the phone. Press the 'UNDO' button when the restriction message appears on the phone. Go to website above and enter the IMEI number. For network...select AT&T (not cingular). For gen:...select asic 6. For model...select 3200. Then press get DCT4 unlock codes. The code at the top of the list should work. I did this with 4 phones with no problems.

T-mobile, not T-mobile Tampa

Leave MCC+MNC alone, don't change it

Second dropdown, select ASIC 6

I just successfully unlocked my new AT&T Nokia 3220b.

I wanted to thank all the people who tried and gave their settings for the calculator.
I used the NokiaFREE Unlock Codes Calculator v3.10 with the following settings:

Nokia
3220 (RH-37)
<my IMEI>
U.S.A.
AT&T (Other DCT4)
31038 (mcc+mnc code)
Asic 2
V2 33820

I used code #7 that was generated without the spaces, and I kept the SIM card in the phone. It worked on the first try.

Please note that when entering the code to access "p" just press "*" three times within one second, to access "w" press "*" four times within one second, and to access button "+" you have to press twice "*" within less than a second.

One thing to note when entering the unlock code is that spaces are not needed, even though the generate code has spaces in them. You can’t enter the space character on the phone keypad and it is not necessary. That took some time to figure out.

Thanks again

 that spaces between numbers was a "gift" from the creator for those with problems reading small numbers. If you go to "Options" you can uncheck the "Stretched codes" box and codes will appear in a straight string ;)

Unfortunately, your phone is now hardlocked. You only get five tries. You will keep getting the same code error message all the time, but when you find the right code, you will get a message saying "cannot undo restriction".

Your best option is to find a small repair shop that will unlock the phone for a small fee (max 30 usd), because the hardware to do it is too expensive for just one phone (400 Euro for a Griffin Platinum, check the link at ucables.com at top of page).

Unfortunately, that's how it is. Sorry for not bringing better news.

Best regards

Christ! I can probably get it unlocked for like $150 TT, the phone is my sister's and she originally told me the wrong service provider. If only I knew it from the start!
Thanks anyways, saved me alot of time that I would have spent trying to get the damn thing off, I've used the software for samsungs and nokias before, never had so much trouble with a phone before.

Mr. jonathan_moenne, I'm glad for your succesful search and use of this forum. However, you seem to have missed the rules part, which state that you shall not post your imei nor a code request (I see you are not asking for a code, however you are posting your imei).

Well... the good news is that you have found a correct code. The bad news is that the phone can't be unlocked via codes. You get only five attempts to unlock the phone via codes. When those five attempts have been passed, you will be able to enter codes still, but you when you enter a correct code you will get the message "cannot undo restriction", like what is happening to you.

The other bad news is that there is not easy fix for that. Your best solution is taking the phone to a technician or a small repair shop, who will unlock the phone for a small fee, as no cable/software will do the job. The equipment needed to flash the phone is rather expensive for just one handset (ranging from 150 to 400 Euro). A repair shop will charge max 30USD, but usually less than that.

I'm sorry for not bringing better news.

I have found these forums *extremely* helpful and would like to return the favor. I was having trouble unlocking a Nokia 3220b, RH-49 from Cingular. Based on posts here and previous experience, here's what I did:

Thanks to itisitis, I can confirm that is method officially works for the Cincinnati Bell Wireless phones as well.

Hope this helps.

just unlocked nokia6020 with nokiafree unlocker - link available on this site

get ur nokia mobile
put in providers sim card

go to http://nokiafree.org/forums/f44/s
choose dt4
put in ur imei
select provider network
select gen -> asic6
nokia model -> asic2

get ur codes

choose one
dial #pw+numbers#
fingers crossed

enjoy ur unlocked new mobile

I tried this for 6020B RM-31 using Mexico Telcel..
Telcel sim card IN
DTC4 (expert mode)
Insert IMEI
I use CruxCalc 3.10
Mexico Telcel - Network 33402000
Asic2
Asic6 - 32821

Try the first one
#pw+code+1#
FAIL

Try the fifth one
#pw+code+5#
FAIL

Try the seventh one
#pw+code+6#
FAIL also

So do we know for sure if 6020B RM-31 for Mexico Telcel is unlockable? I have tried 3 times with Telcel sim card IN. So in theory I have 1 left before it locked up. Anyone have any luck with 6020B?

Additional information the Telcel sim card that I have is said Telcel V3.

Have you tried to take the battery out, let the phone without battery for a couple of hours and then try again?

If that does not work, sounds like a phone failure, could be hardware or software. Take the phone to a technician, because there's no relation between the action of input a code and a dead phone. If the phone died, it has no relation with the unlocking process at all.

Mr. mxg7... please, at least read the rules or read the full discussion before posting.

1. No code requests or imei posting is allowed in this forum, and breaking those two rules leads to be banned

2. The idea is that by reading rules, faqs stickies and this very same thread, and asking for help in the appropiate way you can do it yourself, not requesting someone else to do it for you.

All the answers you need are in this thread, so take five minutes to read it, and you will have the answers that you need faster.

I did'nt get it to work, I guess my head was too hard for this,
However i have used up my 5 chances and received a message (Cannot undo restrictions)

I hope in the future that those who know what they do best, does not expect everyone else to know the same thing and would offer their assistance more streight-forward and willingly

Once again, Thank you all.

Hi all,

Thanks to this very interesting forum, I managed to unlock my Nokia 6020 !
Here is how did I proceed:

-Phone: Nokia 6020 (without "b")
-locked for: Bouygues Telecom provider
-Sim card inside : YES - mine, from Orange provider, sim refused with message "phone under restriction"

- I have downloaded and used NokiaFREE unlock codes calculator v3.10 with following settings
1) in EXPERT MODE, select 3220 (RH-37)
2) Service provider in my case was Bouygues Telecom
3) Selected 'Asic 2' in the first drop down box.
4) Selected 'Asic 6' in the second drop down box. The code shown comes up as '32821'.
5) Got the list of unlock codes. I used #1 and it worked perfectly the first time.

I repeat that I had my non-accepted Orange sim card IN; after the phone asked to undo the restriction entering full code (including #pw+code+1#).

I hope this could help anyone.
Many thanks to all.

Simple advice to any new user of this forum: do not hurry, take time to READ CARREFULLY from the begining till the end, that's what allowed me to manage successfully ! ;)

All the information from these threads have been great. Thanks!!! However, I am a newbie here and I would appreciate getting clarification on a couple of points to unlock the Nokia 6020B.

I am in Canada using Microcell Network. Using the NokiaFREE calculator v3.10, I selected Nokia for the Brand. Beneath this, I selected "3220 (RH-37)." A number of threads suggest selecting "DCT4 (expert only)" Which one should I use?

When I select "3220 (RH-37)", the boxes where I need to select ASIC 2 and ASIC 6 are disabled. However, ASIC 2 is selected be default. The default for the boxes below are "V2" and "33820". How do I select ASIC 6? Please help. Thanks.

Thanks to the info in this link I was able to unlock a nokia 6020 which was locked to uk vodafone.
I used cruxcalc set as 3220 asic2 and asic6 adjustment to codes.
With the original provider sim in the phone entered #+pw+code+1# and restriction off!!

Thanks Mestrini for the tip on how to enable Expert Mode. I am really new at this. :-D According to Graham's post, he states "#+pw+code+1#". Does this mean that I use the first serial available or do I add one to the last number of any of the serials? Therefore,
"#+pw+code+1#" actuall becomes "#+pw+code+2#"
and
"#+pw+code+7#" actuall becomes "#+pw+code+8#"

I've already used 2 tries, so I just want to be sure. THANKS!!!!

13-01-2006, 09:28 AM
Nope, +7 is just to use 7. It's displayed like since that's how the code must by typed in the phone; with all the #, * and + signs ;)

btw, go read this (if not already) http://nokiafree.org/forums/t77740/h/s.html not to use any blacklisted serials and get wrong codes

cheers and good luck

Still no luck. :( Lucky for me I got hold of another 6020b from a friend (guinea pig) from the same telephone company, FIDO (Microcell here in Canada). I wasted another 2 tries. What am I doing wrong? Despite Mestrini's incredible effort to help me AND reading through all the threads TWICE, I still have no luck.

With Expert Mode Enabled, I entered in each of the boxes as follows from Top to bottom:
Nokia
3220 (RH-37)
<My IMEI>
Canada
Microcell Connexions Inc
30237000 (auto filled)
Asic 2
Asic 6 32821 (auto filled)

I typed in the Serial EXACTLY as displayed from line 1 and line 5 with no luck. I would appreciate any input at all. Or am I just a hopeless case?
Thanks.

Dont suppose you need to use Rogers Network code as they own Fido now?, this was stated in a previous thread

Older Fido phones have a special 8 digit network code!
I found from an older thread to use code #7 as multi-lock is used by FIDO. Can anyone using 6020B with FIDO confirm this?

http://archive.nokiafree.org/index.php/t-77002-Nokia_6020_-_Fido_Canada.html

Has anyone unlocked this phone with FIDO? As subway999 suggested, do I use Rogers AT&T, Microcell Connexiions Inc., OR FIDO-Special Code? It was so much simpler to unlock when Rogers and FIDO were separate companies. :o

Thanks a lot!

I guess it's a hard thing to tell since ther can be several scenarios

1- Phone is new, sold by FIDO and has FIDO's MCC+MNC
2- Phone is "old", sold by Rogers and still has Rogers' MCC+MNC
3- Phone is "old", sold by FIDO and has Rogers MCC+MNC (shared stocks??)
4- Phone is new, sold by Rogers but already has FIDO MCC+MNC

i'm glad i'm not in Canada
just kiddin'

but since there are at least 5 tries you still can cover all possibilities ;)

Thanks, but I already used up 2 opportunities. I was hoping someone else in Canada has had success in unlocking their 6020b who are using FIDO.

Hello,

Still unlocking 6020 (about 6 unlock last week), I'm curious and I've tried with different settings, just to check, which successfuly worked:

1) in EXPERT MODE, select 3220 (RH-37)
2) Service provider in my case was Bouygues Telecom (France)
3) Selected 'Asic 2' in the first drop down box.
4) Selected 'Original' in the second drop down box. The code shown comes up as '32779'. (here is the change I made)
5) I've used either #1 and #7 and it worked out.

If this can be helpful to anyone.

thanks to all of you in this forum. I followed the advice of connect_ppl's earlier post to unlock my 3220b from T-mobile in USA.

Used the nokiafree calculator, with network 31020, GEN: asic 6 and Nokia
Model: ASIC 2.

As others said here, I needed to put in the T-Mobile SIM in order to enter the code. Then I entered code #7, and it worked on the first try! Now my foreign SIM card works with no problem. Thanks again!

You must use an accepted sim card for the 6020 phone to enter the codes!!!
#pw+233 025 455 102 232+1#
Worked 100% for me on 6020. :D

You can't get much more of a virgin unlocker than me  My son has given me his 6020 locked to TESCO's service. I have a Vodaphone SIM that I want to use in it. Just how do I use the code above?

Tesco SIM still in 6020.
Turn on - OK
Enter PIN code - OK
Get default screen with TESCO logo.

If I then try to enter the code in the quote using the key pad all I get is #79+233 etc. The hash symbol comes out as a hash (# which I assume is what I want to see) but the 'p' and the 'w' can only be entered as numbers not letters. I'm obviously missing something really simple out. Can you help the helpless? :-?

Worked out how to enter the code.

From the Default Screen:
Press #

Enter numbers without spaces.

but after the last '#' all I got was "Error Code". What do I do now?
