Activation is still a problem for TT Mobile only certain people know how how to run it and its not widespread you can the Great Britain version + activation for £20 on ebay, ill post the link when i find it again.

TOMTOM 5 GB FOR £20 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5777085428&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1)

it works on a 6600 8-)
activation is simple with the program.

but that`s not the problem I think.
You`re sure you installed also a map?

Have you managed the activate the Great Britain map?? If so let me know, The program only activated the Benelux map and all other maps wouldn't work as far as i know.

orfe
25-05-2005, 01:19 PM
I've put the France-Map!!But maybe I have put the original map (Benelux-map) to enter the prog and activate it...what do you think? After the activation maybe i should put the France-Map...My problem is not that I to activate the prog, it's that I can't enter the prog to activate it!!

orfe

Gray, which map did you install with the app to activate it?thanks

Gray
25-05-2005, 04:22 PM
I activated it with the benelux map of the preveous tomtom mobile-version. than I installed the `Belgique-map??` didn`t know this exist, but it worked. (only belgium map)
and yesterday I copied the `new` v3.90 benelux map and it worked.
But apparently there is a newer version of the beneluxmap with v5.66? wich i`m searching right now :( this version has info and telephonenumbers of places, just like route 66.

Ow, you have to use capital letters in the activation-program or it won`t work ;-)

orfe
25-05-2005, 04:47 PM
are you sure you have the version 5 because, it gives the telephonenumber with every map I think...

Gray
25-05-2005, 05:13 PM
No I mean when you pick `call number`in tomtom you can chose the poi`s telephone-numbers.
herefor you need the poi.dat file from V5.66 ;)

ok. I've installed the benelux-map but it still doesn't work, the app doesn't start with my 7710. I think I need a special file...another idea?

ok peeps,
I uploaded the stuff to an ftp

24.75.3.74/ÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿÿ ÿÿÿÿ_tagged/ for.dfxp/by.Wishmaster/.ÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿÿ ÿÿÿÿÿÿ_stuff.is.here/The Wiep/

just paste the whole line in an ftp client and go leech

it contains a sis setup of TTM5 with cracked .app so you no longer need to activate any maps
it also contains Benelux 566

the TTMOBILE.zip is only the cracked .app

go grab it now :)

I had a similar experience with the onboard converter application. It turned out that 'restore original settings' in the control panel options menu fixed it.
Maybe this also works for the tomtom application.
Note you will have to reconfigure the phone after this restore...

I do not have a bluetooth GPS ( just a plain Garmin VistaC which has a USB connector but I guess I cannot get that attached to the 7710) so can not test tomtom. But I don't mind having a look and see if I can run it on my 7710.
I tried the mentioned ftpsite but although I can enter this 'weird' directory, I cannot see any files in it (just a subdirectory for uk maps, but that is empty too). Are the files gone. or do I need to use a special user id instead of anonymous ftp? (also I needed to go to a windos box with IE to get into the direcotry. Using linux seems to fail :-(
Thanks.

hello...maybe it's the response to the matter!!!!Did you enter the program which ask you to find a map?when you entered it, did you have a white screen so you can't navigate? What is your firmware(*#0000#)?thanks

mirakels

I did no play with tomtom yet because I cannot get to this ftp site properly...
I just mentioned the 'converter' application shows the same white screen behaviour that was resolved by going back to original settings.

I'm happy to test it om my 7710 if ...

My firmware version is 3.26 15-02-05

you just have to copy and paste this link in your web browser :
ftp://24.75.3.74/ÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿÿ ÿÿÿÿ_tagged/ for.dfxp/by.Wishmaster/.ÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿÿ ÿÿÿÿÿÿ_stuff.is.here/The Wiep/
I have an older firmware (3.04.2), can you tell us if it works for you?Thank you very much... ;-)

Ok can access the ftp site now at this dir. However it only contains the navigator version and great britain maps. The navigator zip does not contain symbian app files... The above mentioned TTMOBILE.zip is also gone.
So I cannot test it yet...

I tested with the original settings and it doesn't work. Can you test it with your firmware when you'll get the app. Thanks

there is a version floating around on the net claiming to run on 7710..
on the official TT site 7710 is also under the supported devices.
when I get my hands on it I'll up it to rapidshare and share the link :)

I think people with original version of tomtom mobile 5 direct from tomtom have it working... there are lots of people on gps forums using it...

There must be a working version somewhere?
