I have the exact same problem! I have also changed the LED's but still no result! I tested the removed LED's in another board and they were working fine! So where is the problem 1 LED works, other three don't!

Try to check ohm accross the led. If it is very low ohm (near short cct) that mean one of the LED is short cct. Because it is connected in parallel, all LED may not functioning. U can see at the service manual that all 4 LED is in parallel.

try to trace from the start

CPU pin = C12 txpwr
to UI IC pin 7 (LCDLED_CNT) & 14 (KBDLED_CNT)
to UI IC pin 9 (LCD_LED)
to LED

Can we get a more detailed explanation? Maybe a picture?? This would be very helpful!!!;)

Hi everybody,

One thing we need to keep in mind is that the LEDs are connected in series. If one LED or more are having different current consumption u'll face the prob of one or more LEDs not lighting. Try replacing all four LEDs with new ones from the same batch. This should solve the problem.

Keep us posted.

Whoops, made a mistake in my earlier post...the LEDs are in parallel, so if there are LEDs that consume less current only those will light up. Changing all the four LEDs with new ones from the same batch should solve the problem. I've been tinkering around with LEDs for over 10 years....maybe I learnt something in those years ;)

Hi,

The problem for this use to be broken lines(traces). With an Ohm meter check if you have conection between all the leds, they are conected in paralell, so see if all the leds are conected in one of the side to the same point and the other side to the same point. Next to the UI switch there also two varistors, check if they are ok if the same step doesn.t solve!

Leader is right about checking the continuity. I was too tired yesterday and forgot to mention this. The continuity should be checked first. Only if the tracks are ok and still the LEDs don't light up u should change them.
