I was having trouble getting MP3's to set as my ringtone on my new 6630. I could load them onto the phone, play them but when I tried to set them as ringtones, they were not allowed. Nokia have said that it is because Vodaphone has set the phone to require certificates before they can be set as ringtones even though I obviously can play them without certificates on the phone?!
How stupid, frustrating and very double-standardish of them. I bet the ones they sell have certificates! I have downloaded all my MP3 files legit. through pay sites which means I have paid for copyright or else they are copyright free ones, all of which don't work as ringtones.
Is there anyone who can suggest a way of sorting this. I certainly won't be getting a phone from Vodaphone again.
Incidently, Nokia advise that other service providers are likely to follow suit.
