Hard Locked 3220/Cable Question

So I tried to unlock my 3220 from T-Mobile/US and for some reason I could not get any of the codes to work. Long story short, it's hard locked and I'm now in the market for a cable to unlock it. My question is will any data cable work? I found this "Nokia 3220 Data Cable DKU-5 [Pop Port] Cable" at http://www.activemobiles.com/nokia_3220_data_cable.htm and was wondering if that would work for unlocking. Any help would be very much appreciated.
