Hi all,

Ok have an 8210 rom 5

Working fine, except slight screen contact probs, if u pushed slightly at the top of the screen it'd go blank but still it worked :)

I ordered 12 led's of net - blue 6 screen and orange 6 keys

Ok fitted them no probs, except the middle keypad one when i unsoldered it, the gold contact came off also so i got some tin foil and led it from negative of other LED contacts to the new LED. It all worked ok, but me fone after a few hours of fiddling turned off with a flicker of the screen - it did this about 5 times. i unscrewed and had a shifty inside to see what was up, nowt obvious. Put back together and now NOTHING :eek: :confused: :mad: :rolleyes: :o :(

Its highly pissed me off cos ive spent all day making me fone look amazing with blue screen and now its buggered up! :rolleyes:

I spose i must have shorted something or other i duno

But after about half an hour shouting at it and taking it to bits and contemplating kicking it out of the nearby window i pressed the power button for a millionth time and the lights in the keypad ONLY flickered slightly, i got excited but nope nowt else working or anything :( So thats the ever long story of how i broke my 8210, some may say "ha ha loser your battery dead he he he" i say erm no cos its half full, plus i cant charge it, nowt happens no beep or anything

Any ideas my friends???

I thought i had a solution 4 u, but u've already tried it.... (i cant believe it idnt work after you shouted @ it!!)

(bit dodgy tho... tin foil?!!)

i'm guessin u have blown a component - maybe a led? try putting the originals back in....? or just leave a light out on the hole u messed up?

when i did my 3310, i broke off 1 of the pads on the screen.... couldnt fix it :( but the screen had a cool fading effect on it from the 1 side 2 the other :)

i wen back to the fone after making the post above and hey it worked yay

I have no idea why it stopped working for a while.
i started playing some more, then again it stopped, came back after 20 mins and it works - odd or what! :rolleyes:

But anyways if doubt try again later! :p

I have found that if its not soldered perfect it can short off the metal LCD pannel.

If it is, do it the Irish way and make the holes wider.

Yep thats what i meant to say earlier thats what was happening aswell, my soldering was a bit iffy
