A300, PCB093LBE cable ok to unlock?

I bought an original samsung cable, P/N PCB093LBE, but whatever program I try I can't connect to the phone.

I tried both positions of the switch on the cable box ("data" and "D/L"), with and without charger connected to the cable box, phone on or off, changed COM parameters but still no joy... I really don't know what to do any more!

Is this the right cable, do I need to modify it (if yes, how?)...? Please help!

hey there - sorry, i'm by no means an expert, but thought i'd try to help a bit - i can't say whether or not that cable works with that phone, as i don't have either. but a bit of googling revealed this:

usually these "PCBxxxxxx" cables are compatible with several different models, but i couldn't find any info to that effect regarding your phone and that cable. maybe one of the two cables on these links will help? or maybe they will open a new course of investigation for alternatives?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, there are some unselfish people out there after all! :)
I'm actually thinking of trying some other cable, but I'm starting to suspect that maybe Orange disables the com functionality on their phones completely (at least the pay as you go ones). I'm not particularly inclined to try and modify the cable because it has some ICs inside (probably just buffers but how do I know?), I was hoping that someone could point me to instructions to do that, but that didn't happen. I'll post here again in case I'm lucky.

Im not sure if thats the right cable either, but i know you can use an original T100 cable, but it has to be slightly modified.

What is the cable your using!...... :-? :-? :-?

The unlocking programs mostly use COM1.
So if your using a USB cable you need to download a driver.
Install it, go into device manager while the phone is connected.
Open ports (COM & LPT).
You will see the USB connection for the cable.
Go into its port settings and change to COM1... :roll: :roll:
