Unfortunately the cable alone is almost useless for this. When you say "cable unlocking", we mean that it must be hardware unlocked.

For that, you need the cable AND a box, like UFAs, Griffin, Prodigy, Tornado, UF3, etc. Unlocking a phone by cable is a process in which the firmware of the phone must be replaced by one that has no lock programmed.

You can see the prizes at ucables.com, but a box it's just too expensive for just one phone. The best solution would be to find a small repair shop that will unlock the phone for a small charge, max 25usd.

Are there any software programs that can be downloaded from the internet and do a hardware unlock with a usb cable.

Thanks,
Jay

No, sorry, but as I said before, only a box will do it, no software as long as I know.

Some people have reported before having done it with a DKU cable, but no one told how, so as I know the only way is a box.
