Help With Unlocking Nokia 6230i

Hi,
I am trying to unlock my Nokia 6230i which is currently on the
Virgin Network and have been unsuccessful three times
does anyone know what the procedure is to unlock this fone
as i am struggling and dont wana use all my tries. PLEASE HELP.

Can someone please give me a step by step guide to do this right
as i have been reading previous posts and followed instructions
and have not got anywhere with unlocking the phone.

Mr. Sain, please post just one time (not on a thread dedicated to that phone, and then a new thread), so it can be keeped clear and easy to follow up.

In order to help you, we would need please, the settings you used on your previous attempts and the firmware version. The first item, you must know, the second you'll find by typing *#0000# on your phone. Post firmware version and date.

Download the soft, use asic 6, box asic 6 (32821) then for Virgin use SPECIAL CODE (23400001)

I'am presuming u are in the UK

im in the uk... iv downloaded the software but i cant
select Asic 6 when i select DCT4 expert it automatically
uses Asic 2 & 33820!


the firmware of the fone is
v 03.40

RM-72
GSM P1.1

i think i only have 1 last try left... :-(

Too bad you only have one try left, because Mr. MarkieT settings are correct, but the GEN could be either ASIC6 or ONE.

I'd say go with the settings that Mr. MarkieT gave you, and if it fails and, fortunately, you got one more try, try one more time changing the GEN to ONE

Just select the 6230 from the drop down menu and all will be fine :razz:

Does it matter then if the firmware version dont match
if i select the 6230 from the list it uses RH-12
but on the 6230i its got RM-72???

This must be the hardest fone iv eva unlocked :(

In this case no, because the Asic and box serial are the same for both the 6230 and the 6230i.

Use same settings as 6230, asic 6 and box asic6, then use code 5

FYI, I've just managed to unlock a 6230i from Vodafone Spain.

It didn't work the first time without a SIM card (nothing happened after pressing the last # for the code), but it did once I used a Vodafone SIM card, with the following info:

Network: Spain - Airtel Movil
GEN: ASIC 6
Model: Nokia 6230

Entered unlock code +1 with Vodafone SIM inside.


IMEI: 3579-----------
NETWORK: 21401
PHONE TYPE: 6
BOX: 32821
