@joox

I wish to write a good SMS Manager for myslef as my first programming exercise in VB and in nokia mobile phone. I am kinda lost because I can't find libraries or information about Nokia. It seems you have the right tools, would you mind helping me?

hmm..... libaries doesn't exist. informations are very rarely.

do you want to write a tool that uses the Mbus/fbus commands to manage the sms in the mobile?

I'd like to work with FBUS/MBUS and Ir to manage SMS of the Nokia phone.

I kinda like the way Cellular Essentials handle the SMS. It can read the SMS as the phone receives it. But it only handles. It can't manage SMS. Like when I want to backup the SMS from my phone, the composed one... it can't do that. It can't even write a message and store it in the PC until we are ready to send it or just store it in our SIM.

So, to stop complaining, I want to write my own software. :)

Oxygen has OCX for developer. The probelm is it is too costly and I don't know if it is compatible with VB. And they don't answer to queries unless you are going to buy.

Do you know how to access the Comports? this will be most important for your tool. If you don't know what i mean. you should find out what i mean or you should buy those "redundant" ocx file.

Last year I wrote a program that communicates with a cash register connected to COM ports for my POS software.

Is it the same with Nokia? For other COM port functions/procedure, I think I can easily learn it if provided with information.

AT = Attention Command.

I know this stuff. I used to be a BBS addict. Back then things are best done using AT commands because only a handfull software are available.

Does Nokia uses AT command?
