So, i have an unlocked 6230i but i'm unable to use it with my carrier as it seems that the band is locked on 1800Mhz and my carrier works in 1900Mhz, does anyone knows how to do it?
Thanks

Not possible, the frequency is set by hardware and not software. Changing frequencies involves complex microsoldering (basically you need to change filter frequencies and other elements), and after that you'll need to flash the phone with the appropiate flash file, since the flash for different models are not compatible. Only the box needed to flash the phone costs 400 Euro (for a Griffin Platinum... take a look at the prices at ucables.com, link at top of site).
And well, you'd need advanced skills in microsldering and mobile techonogy, and the equipment to do it. It's best to sell the phone overseas, exchange it over seas or put in the box until you have the oportunity to sell it and buy a new one.
Unfortunately, that's how it is. I'm sorry for not bringing better news.

i have to agree with subway999 in saying that the 6230i is a triband handset... it should always work on ALL bands (900, 1800 & 1900)... I have only seen this problem on a 6600 before and it was a nokia engineer who did it through the Service Menu... i doubt you could do it by accident... not really muich help there but there you go!!!
Hope this helps :p
