PLEASE HELP: Trying to format 6620 MMC from phone

I don't have a card reader readily available, and I've somehow corrupted my MMC card. I get a message stating this when I go to Menu/extras/memory/...left clicking on options brings up the option to format the card, but when I click it nothing happens! I've also just formatted the main phone's memory with Psiloc's taskman - which is now corrupted as it was installed on the MMC. I have a backup and want to restore it or at the very least start from scratch w. a blank card. Is there any other way to format the card without using a card reader? Is there PC software that can do this? I have the phone connected via USB (DKU-2) and have PC suite - but as far as I know PC suite cannot do this - much less when the MMC no longer shows up as a drive in file explorer either.

Update: Some versions of the 6620 corrupt the memory card when instructed to begin formatting it. A firmware update is required, but for now, formatting with something else such as a card reader, digi-cam or PDA is required.
