I'm a nOob so please bear with me. I've read the entire FAQ and searched the only 2 pages avalible on the 6010 (Cingular).
It seem's to be a DCT4 and simular to the 3595 & 3510.
I can not get my phone to connect to my PC com port. The phone is turned on and Com port powers up when trying to connect, but the connection fails.
I'm using the 6 pin Nokia connector pin out as follows:
"under battery"
-up-
123
456
2=GND
3=Vpp (3.6v correct?)
5=MBUS
Is that pin out correct for the 6010?
I'm using the circuit with the 7404 inverter (is LS ok?) transister (is 2N222 ok?) and a 5 volt regulator.
Thanks

If you're using winxp, you will need another soft to communicate with the phone. Winxp tries to control all ports, acting as a -bloody- communicator agent, thus it won't allow an app to communicate directly with the device connected to the correspondant port.
This has been issued by MS and a google search will show you the solution.
If you have troubles finding it, post again and we'll try to help (which means that I will try to find it on the net... I'm a linux user ;) :lol: ).

Yep, I'm using XP. I'll try it on a different computer with out XP. Thanks for the info.
The DIY FBUS Schematic I have show's that the "Tx and Rx" are not used, only the Mbus and Vp & GND, is that correct?

As far as I understand, that conf is correct for FBUS exclusive cables. FBUS/MBUS cables use Tx and Rx too... but I may be wrong. I'll do a further check on this and post detailed info (it's somewhere on this forum, it's a matter of finding it).

Thanks again.
I could'nt find any thing for a "6010" is it safe to say the pinout is the same as the 3510?

I understand that the pinout is the same. But.. be careful. I would buy the apporpiate cable from nokia. The data connection to a handset is not the same as the computer's serial, and with a wrong pinout set you could end with a dead phone.
Really, be careful. Though I understand that the pinout is the same, we're guessing really. And the risk is too high... I would think it twice, and probably I'd buy the cable from Nokia. They charge too much for a simple cable, but they know what they do at least.
