Mr. james_x, I have moved your question to the appropiate section, dct4 unlocking.

Also, may I recommend you to read FAQs and stickies, and use the search function. Use your phone model as a search criteria.

As a general guide, the most secure GEN lately is ONE (32836) and use seventh code. Your phone is Asic 2 type.

On the calc, go to options and set the calc to expert mode. Select "DCT4" from the model drop down list, and use custom settings, with the settings mentiones above.

Did you read the whole faq? Because I updated it like a month ago. I can see the update, is like two posts below. v2 has been blacklisted by a year now, currently the most secure serial is ONE (32836), which working for even july 05 handsets.

The code to be used is a guess issue. As you see, the calc generates a set of seven codes. Those are seven different 'locks'. The provider, when locks the phone, decided which code uses. Providers can use only one, two and even three locks. The theory says that the seventh code unlocks all others, but there's not a prove in that and there are some handsets that only use code 1 and with code 7 from the same set give code error.

My personal theory is that if the provider has locked the phone with any lock number, but also seventh, entering the seventh code will open all other locks. But, the premise is that the provider had to use the seventh lock, along with any other lock. I can't prove that of course, it's just my theory.

Anyways, almost every provider around the world uses code 7, and the known exceptions are UK and USA. But, for the rest of mortals there's a good chance that the seventh code will do the job.

I hope this helped.
