Is it possible to change nok 2100 imei without changeing Flash IC?
I've tried to change it by useing virgin eeprom, mbus and lots of progs (rolis, noktool, knok, eepromtools) but orig imei stays ("orig imei write fail" in rolis and noktool).

I tried to convert 5210 to 2100 by changeing 5210 display and flashed it with 2100 flash. It worked even the imei was changeable but only in first time. After that I tried to change the imei again but it failed. So I upped the 5210 flash again, the imei was 5210's, but if I used 2100 flash imei was that I put in first time.
So I don't get it, where the 2100 firmware stored the imei in 5210?

Also I've read those threads:

Looks like it's a firmware protection that writes the first written IMEI to a different location. So that when someone tries to change it, it doesn't match and operation won't succeed.

The only option is to disable firmware check for the chip and change IMEI in firmware (like dejan teached the gsm world and now is available in DCT4)

cheers

Hi,

I checked some arm and indeed, 2100 does have additional/ different code for the plain imei.

I could try to disable that and try the 2100 to behave like a regular dct3.

But such things need testing, and I not have a 2100 to do so.

So even when I know I have the solution for U, I'm sorry I can't help U.

Never saw him teach anything, only bluffing he's the only one who knows...

Hi,

Some test, 2100-564 imei de-patch?

change at 106DF6: B4 0F 1C 01 20 0C 22 08 F7 FF FF C2 20 01 BC 0F BD F0

change at 106E78: B4 0F 1C 01 20 0C 22 08 F7 FF FF 9A BC 0F BD F0

I tried the 2100 to look like if it was a regular dct3 again.

Maybe it works, depends if someone could test this idea.

Mr. Sergo, Mr. Adebisi,

The real problem is not in the tools, trying is worthless efforts.

The problem is, the plain imei is not in the eeprom, like as in a regular dct3.

I dono precise where the real plain imei comes from in a 2100, since that part is hidden to me.
(unless someone knows what type of code the data at 20.0100/ 20.010A is in understandable instructions)

Anyway, the changes I proposed before will undo this 2100 specific method for reading and writing imei.

Ur imei will be in eeprom again, and from there U can do things which U also can do on other dct3 types.

If it is too hard for U to change these bytes please mention, I can make a demo file, or hope someone is willing to make a small script for U.

I also want this seen tested by someone since I promissed long time ago to someone, I can do this.

Only never got my hands on a real 2100 phone...
