View Full Version : 3310 to 3315: Where can I get original Nokia 3315 KEYPAD?

Hello everyone,

I know this is a bit irrelevant as it isn't related to 3310/3315 SOFTWARE conversion but rather a conversion in APPEARANCE: where can I buy an original Nokia 3315 Keypad to fit a 3315 faceplate (since those, ennervatingly, don't come with keypads!).

All tried all sorts of online auction sites and couldn't find anything (well, apart from some nasty 'crystal' keypads). Not even people with busted 3315s selling their phones for spare parts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there,

by asking where I could get Nokia 3315 original keypads, I meant where could I buy them online.

Thanks for your help in any case.

Are there any phillipine shops that would sell an original 3315 keypad and send it to Brazil?

If you could help me on that I'd really appreciate, my conversion project is almost complete and all I need now is a keypad!

Thanks!

i am unaware of any places you can buy the orginals or any imitations
somebody gave me the idea of contacting a nokia service center and buying it as a spare part
i haven't gotten round to it yet
but if you try it be sure to post on this board

Thanks SinisterFrog

I have contacted Nokia service in Brazil but they only carry 3310 replacements. To tell the truth, the guy had never even heard of a Nokia 3315 model, and the technician only knew it from flashing friend's phones in his spare time.

3315 is an Asia-only phone so I guess my best shot is to keep in touch with people from the Asia-Pacific region and see if anyone can find those keypads for me.

I have seen a few aftermarket ones (non-OEM) but they looked simply nasty, so I'm after the real thing.

I'll keep looking and will keep you guys posted if I find anything. Since you're in Australia maybe you could also find something, you can get the real N3315 there (without having to flash it in as we do over here!).

Thanks again!

Hey!

Sorry if I am a bit sarcastic on my first post. I was out of line. I am really sorry.

Anyways, I am too is looking for an original one. I have contacted major dealer here in the Philippines but they said that Nokia hasn't release keypads for replacements.

As for now, I am using original casing with keypad from imitation casing. Well, the feel is just not right because the fake keypad is too soft. You need to press too deep for it to react. And it is too rubber... it feels like it has some adhesive or something... Sticky is the word. And when your finger is sweaty, yuck! your finger won't slide to the next key and you have to lift it off the keypad considerably.

So, I suggest you go for the original. How will you get it? I don't know. :)

No worries WildSwan...

Maybe you should try contacting Nokia Service and not just Nokia distributors.

I tried it here in Brazil but there's absolutely no chance I can find 3315 parts here as it is an Asia-only phone.

The thing with Nokia Service centers is that they usually won't sell you a replacement part unless you have actually broken the original one... At least here in Brazil. Once I tried to find an original-colour 5120 (TDMA version of 5110) cover and they weren't sold separately, just as replacement parts, so I had to tell them I had dropped the phone and broken the LCD window on my phone's cover... Only then did they sell me a replacement.

I don't know what their policy is in Asia, but I think your (and everyone's) best shot is to contact Nokia Service in Asia and try and get replacements from them.

:x On a separate note, it's just that damn keypad that separates me from completing my 3315 project!!! Aarghhh!! :x

Sorry, I'm just angry it's so hard to find such a small piece of plastic!:(

Thanks for your replies, let's keep this thread alive and maybe someone can help us find these keypads!

Have you bought that on MercadoLivre.com.br ??
I saw some people selling 3315 faceplates, but I preffer the original gray 3310. :D

Do you got ICQ? I'm also from Brazil.

Hi,

I had replied to this in another thread but it's probably hard to find right now! :)

I eventually found a couple of 3315 keypads in brand-new condition from damaged 3315s I bought in eBay Australia.

As for the faceplates, I got them from http://www.super038sg.com - they took about 15 days to get to Brazil from Singapore. And they were originals! :D

I've never seen any 3315 stuff at www.mercadolivre.com and in any case that's not a very good auction site - you put things up for auction and people try to BARGAIN (!!!) instead of bidding... It's hopeless. :(

And besides MercadoLivre doesn't have any form of protection to the bidder - I have lost some good money there with bad sellers and the company simply won't do anything. Actually, it doesn't exist formally in Brasil (I mean that, the company's not registered in Brasil so it doesn't have ANY legal responsibility and will just recommend lame things like "try to contact the seller by phone" or something in case an auction goes wrong).

About ICQ, I tend to use Windows Messenger more often so please PM me for the addy.

Cheers,

Hi there, My dad bought 3x 3315's and scamed me out of my original 3310 red cover and left the 3315 cover and key pad with me. I personly don't like the look of the 3315 cases and bought my self a nice original 3310 clear case, Well to get to the point, I have this 3315 case and key pad lieing around so if any one wants it my be we could do a deal, like if some one can change my LED's to amber I would give them the case and key pad for there trouble??
