Hi, I was wondering whether anyone could help me. I have one try left at unlocking my phone. I am locked to optus Australia
It is a Nokia 3120
RH-19
18-03-05
I have tried Gen - Original and V2
Nokia Model - Asic 2
I do not know what else to try. I have searched through all the posts and cannot find an answer. If anyone has successfully done this please help me as I was told elsewhere that I only have 5 attempts to use the correct code.
Please Please Please help.

You have been told right, you only have five tries to unloc the phone. It is strange tha Original does not work, but there two more serials that are very trysty, ONE and ASIC6 (do not confuse wuth the Asic type. The Asic Type is 2, but there is also a serial denominated ASIC6).
I do not know which code are you using, but usually, except for USA and UK code 7th should do the job.
Post results please, and don't waste your remaining tries.
Best regards

Thanks Edge, you are wonderful. I ended up doing the 7th code. I stuffed it originally by leaving the sim card in (i think) so I took it out and attempted the 7th code. It worked perfectly!
You helped me get over the confusion and saved me paying $80 from Optus. I greatly appreciate the help.

Have two phone locked to optus( virgin). Used upto 4th try using V2 gen b4 coming across this forum. Both imei starts off with 356 but the firmware are ver 06.01 with 18.03.05 rh19 and other ver 06.11 with 17.05.05 rh19.
from this thread i gather i cant use gen code original , v2.
i m using nokiafree calculator v3.2 but being the last go.... need to be sure of the gen code to use. i also understand the 7th code is the go.
wud apprecciate someone's experience on this lot's of 3120 ver 06.11 n 06.01. tks! :???:

Original should indeed do the job but if you're not sure about using it then generate the codes with serial ONE

i've always had success with serial 32835 (now called hongxing) when unlocking optus 3120. this worked on the first ones that came out, and it still works on the current ones.
ONE also works on the latest versions (never tried it on earlier versions).

Works on earlier versions too. Serials are kind of retroactive... meaning, if they are working in a phone with firmware of dec 05, it should unlock all older phones. Serials stop working when Nokia blacklists them.
For example, serial V2. It was blacklisted in mid 04 approximately, but it unlocks all phones with firmware previous to that date. However, newer phones will not be unlocked with this serial. Serial ONE, if it's unlocking phones with firmware dic 05', it will unlock any older phone. There are some exceptions, we still don't know exactly the logic that Nokia uses in dct4 firmware.
Best regards
