Hi, my friend gave me his nokia 7610 before he moved overseas but he forgot to give me his code. He'll be out of contact for at least 3 weeks (long story) but i need to get the phone working now so I've requested unlock codes from different forums and tried calculator programs - no luck.
I do have access to my brothers DKU-2 cable - is there any way at all to unlock or straight-out reset the phone with this?

i dont know what your problem is... is the phone SIM Locked? or Security Code Locked? if its the Security Code then go to http://nfader.z-host.ru/ and use the MasterCode... if its SIM Locked then go to http://www.lur.nu/unlock/nokia_eng.php and try and unlock it Baby!!!

well, i'll try those but like i said - i've already tried entering codes from different sites and downloaded a few code calculator programs but nothing has unlocked the phone yet. That's why i wanted to know if there was anything that could be done with the dku-2 cable, maybe a hardware reset or something and then try the default codes or the ones from the sites that've been quoted here.

okay, some progress - i tried the mastercode from nfader and it got me in with my SIM fully operationall. My next question is how do i reset all the security pin codes so i dont get locked out again? Is there a default pin or do i have to wait another few weeks and ask my friend?
I kinda need this phone for work and after going through all this to get it working it'd be good if i can keep it working ;)

sorry bout that Mr Subway I am not at all an unlocking man and so i just posted a link i had lying around... with regard to the mastercode... well done mate, if you need the pin number for the SIM then you will need to wait for your mate to tell you it! if its the Security code then you can use the mastercode to change the security code back to the original "12345"

okay - i've gone through the security menus and switched off the PIN code request so if i've already used the mastercode to get in and its accepted my Simcard does that mean that i need to re-enter the code every time i turn it on for next 2-3 weeks? It's been a few hours since i got it to work again and i'm kinda scared to turn it off in case it sends me back to square one :(
