6230 does nothing when I enter codes??

Hi,
Can someone help please. I am trying to unlock my 6230, when I put the codes in the phone does nothing at all, on pressing the last # the number just stays there, I've done it before on another phone and after the last # it unlocked, am I doing something wrong.... I have checked the number and it was entered correctly.

I have had a good look through this forum and I can't find anyone else with the same problem, sorry if this has been asked before

Are you entering the code with an accepted/non accepted SIM card ? If not thats a possibilty why the code just sits on the screen?

Sorry to be thick, does that mean I need to put a non accepted sim in to enter the code?
