I've (erroneously) flashed my 3310 with a firmware for 3325i ( the one made by GsmCyber).
The phone works quite good, but problems have started when I wanted to flash my phone with a 3310 fw. Rolis says: preloader boot error.....
Tried also with a full flash backup but nothing.
How can I downgrade??
I've thinked I can select a different phone, but I wanna do other wrong actions. And, most of all, I cannot find the 3325 phone type in rolis.
hope u can help me
regards

I've done a very quick try and this is the result when I try to read the flash:

kNok - Engine build 22, Frontend build 19b by Epilog
Thanks goes out for the following:
Dejan, Kodo, Viper, Jozso (for hardware and cable support
and of course beta testing), Bph&Co, Saras, IceDragon,
Steina, Epilog, Invisible, Jethro, H-tom, AlAraf, Lead
and all the others who supports knok...
FLS1_ConfigurateBootstrapDCT3 : checksum is 4A8B
FLE5_DirectInitialiseBootstrapDCT3 : Press power on (if needed)
FLS1_GeneralSendBootstrapDCT3 : bootstrap seems to be running
FLS1_PreparePhone : detected NMP is NHM-X
FLS1_PreparePhone : not supported NMP - NHM-X
Cannot prepare phone

The problem seems to be the unsupported NMP - NHM-X.
Maybe do you know if another version of knok works??

fantastic, I have realized that my cable is broken, so I don't know if THAT was the problem. Well, I will get a new one and try again. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

>> FLS1_PreparePhone : not supported NMP - NHM-X

It wasn't Ur cable, it was the reason that the tool checks what flash is inside 1st.

The NHM-X is not an existing name, seems that the version nr was changed on the file inside Ur phone.

I think U can work around easily, erase the flash in the phone before flashing the new one.

Dono if that works in knok, but in Rolis it will.

Ps, use Rolis anyway, U'll be surprised it's at least 5 times faster as knok.

The problem is that in rolis there is no ERASE function.
When I use rolis, it says for a while:
waiting for Tx= High
or something like that. Then pops up a window with preloader error.

Anyway now first of all I have to buy a decent cable, cause till now I used a flat cable soldered on the pins of my phone, that I connected to the flasher or to the mbus. When I checked if all was ok, I've broken the flat one!

By the way the phone now is totally out of control, it crashes after some seconds of use.
I have a question: in order to succesfully flash a phone, there must be a working bootloader on the flash, or with the dejan cable you can write on the flash, no matter what is on it?

Hi,

To be honest, I don't have a clue how flashing works, only some ideas.

Boot loading is chip dependent, same phone types can have different chips.

And different phones can have same chip types inside.

So in my imagination, this flash mcu version check is just useles for the reason of flashing only.

(refer the *.tia files in loaders directory in kNok)

kNok has the option to add own types, in the Models.cfg file in the config directory.

Copy the NHM-5 line and change the version into NHM-X.

Never tested, but most likely it should work.

If not, get new cables.
