Hi Guys,
I got the flash mapping hex chart
http://www.nokiafree.org/forums/images/nokia-flash-mapping.gif
I got some questions?
1. For an example: If i need to get a full backup of my phone by rolis for my 3310 ineed to give start hex address - 00200000 and end hex address - 00400000,
but in the chart it shows MCU start - 00200000 and EEPROM(i think this is the end hex address)- 003FFFFF and there is no 00400000 ????
2. If i want to get backup only the MCU+PPM part(without EEPROM) of my 3310, i should give,
Start address - 00200000, and end address - 003CFFFF or
any other address?
Please Help me?
Thank You.
Kootp.

Mr. Kootp,
Could U restrict Ur postings to one forum next time please.
About the addresses, it is because it starts at 0.
0123456789 seems to end at 9 while still it is 10 numbers.
U better use the full 20.0000 upto 40.0000 as backup.
Ur eeprom area is the most essential part related to Ur Phone Id's and settings I think.
Thanks and good Luck.

Well, I should say do 2 tests:
1. get a flash from 20.0000 u / i 3CFFFF
2. get a flash from 20.0000 upto 3D0000
Compare the filesizes of these two files.
The one with the 1.900.544 bytes is the correct one.

You have the Map HEX charts, your answers are in the chart kootp(if you read the addresses). Nokdok is right EEPROM area is the most essential part related to your phone ID, so don't mess it up. Backup MCU+PPM from flash file depends on the phone model.
If your phone is 3310 backup flash addresses:
Start Addr End Addr Flash File Detail
20000 to 40000 is your full flash
20000 to 3D000 is your MCU+PPM
3D000 to 40000 is your EEPROM area
This is just an example of backup 3310 MCU+PPM or EEPROM flash addresses. Hope this will light you up.

Thanks Unikk & NokDok,
Learning Step by step from You Guys...This will help to other Newbies too..
1. is this right (100% sure)?
200000 to 3D0000 is your MCU+PPM
2. But Chart shows PPM ends in 3CFFFF
What happend if i get a backup 200000 - 3CFFFF ?
3. Can i break my full flash file(MCU+PPM+EEPROM) in to 2 separate files like MCU+PPM and EEPROM?
4. If you can do No.3, How?
Thanks.

depend of which software you use. mostly using 200000-3d0000.

Thanks Dude.... :)
Some more question,
1. Can i just flash ProjectZ3310.fls into my 3310 v5.13 or i should upgrade it into v5.57 before i flash this file?
2. If i want to flash ProjectZ3310.fls file into my phone do i need to give the start and end address?
3. If yes, Is it 00200000 - 00400000 or,
00200000 - 003D00000 ?
(Because I think ProjectZ only have PPM+MCU in this file)
Cheers.
