Hi, I have just aquired a Nokia 6600 cell phone locked to T-Mobile and need help unlocking it. I went to THIS SITE (http://unlock.nokiafree.org/) to use the DCT4 calculator to get the code. When do *#000# I get the following information:

V 4.09.1
26-02-04
NHL-10

What need to know is :-

1) What should I select for GEN?

2) what do I select for the Model, it has the 6600 listed but I read elswhere that "ASIC 5" should be used for this model, so which shouold I use?

3) Once I have the code how do I enter it in the phone? Do I need a Sim Card of different provider?

Thanks in advance.

GEN TMobile 32802

ASIC5 Code +1

Try ONCE and post results

Thanks very much for your reply, I Get that the Network is Tmobile (USA) and for Nokia Model I should use ASIC5 but for GEN the choices I have are:

New Griffin
asic6
Griffin Clip
V1
V2
Old Griffin
Prodigy
Original

Which one of those should I use?

Also I'm still unsure of EXACTLY how to enter the code in the phone?

And do I keep my T-Mobile Sim Card in the Phone when I enter the code?

Thanks again

As previously stated as you have a TMobile phone its best to use the TMobile GEN32802 however as your using the online calc ASIC632821 should work as well

Its best to keep the TMobile(accepted sim) in the phone

I suggest you perform a search if your unsure how exactly to enter the code into the phone as this is a DIY forum and your query has been answered previously

After you have typed the code +1 (#pw15digitcode+1) you should be greeted with Phone Restriction Off!

Try calculated code once and post results

I entered the first code and it displayed "SIM Restriction Off", so that worked great. Thanks very much.

Mr. sscv284, browsing 2 minutes in the FAQ section or searching with the search engine would have been faster than waiting for the answer ;)

The # you can enter it with the # key, beside the 0 key. The "pw+", press asterisk several times and you will see how the cursor changes and displays those characters.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer, Edge. I did get rid of the sim lock, using "+pw.....+1". Phone is working in my network, but I cannot use Internet or email. People here tell me my phone is still attached to T Mobile System in internet. May this be true?. If so, is there any way of reprograming the phone?

Saul

And again, the nice "search" engine would have been useful...

You have to ask your new provider to send you the GPRS settings through a text message.

I think, If I recall correctly, that this can be done from nokia' site too.
