Nokia 6630

Hi, I recently purchased a Nokia 6630, since purchasing this phone I have had problems after problems with it. These problems include:

1. The phone locks up
2. The phone does not allow me to make a phone call
3. The phone does not allow me to send text messages
4. The orange home screen cannot be switched off
5. Keypad lights do not work
When the keypad dont work the applications dont work properly!!

(not got a virus on the phone.....i formated the phone to factory conditions and still got these problems)

anyone had problems like these???

are there any solutions???

please please help me!!!

Take your phone down to a Nokia registered repair center for a firmware upgrade

I have been reliably informed that Nokia are so sick of complaints about Orange home screen that they will flash the phone with GENERIC firmware

how much will this cost?? and how can i find the nearest Nokia repair centre??
also i have got my 6630 unlocked on all networks if the new firmware is installed will this reset my phone only to the orange network again???

follow that link and type in your postcode... this is assuming you are in the UK!!

also i think Nokia will still charge you for flashing your phone with Generic and no, your phones SIM lock will not be adjusted during flashing!!!

may i ask, did you buy your phone as a SIM free version!?

it cost only £20, i had to top up my phone with £20, so that they can take it from my Credit, and then ring them and tell them that u have topped up, they would give you a time they would ring back, which was a couple of days later giving me the codes, i would enter the codes into my phone and WALLAH.....UNLOCKED on ALL Networks!!

yes am pay as you go.......and never used my Orange sim......lol

i'm from the uk, anyonw know the price in the uk, and am on the orange network, also i heard that orange do not cover this firmware update....but the bastards installed thier own firmware which is messing up my phone
