Hi there, just need some advice before I buy a new phone.

I currently own a 6600 for nearly 2 years and I am quite happy with it. I'm now having some minor problems with the phone and I'm thinking of buying an N70.

Now, I've read on this board that the N70 is not a symbian phone but a BB5 phone (not that I'm aware of what that means but anyway...). I just need to know whether you can install various applications on the N70 other than games, just like the 6600. For instance an antivirus program, or a program similar to SeleQ, anyway things like that, you've got the picture.

If yes, do programs compatible to symbian phones work on the N70?

On the botton line, do you recomend this phone? For someone that had the 6600 for 2 years, will the N70 reach the 6600 standards?

Dunno what clown said the N70 wasn't a Symbian phone. Although technically Nokia say they developed the Series 60 platform they do admit that it includes software licensed from Synbian. Its as much a Symbian phone as the 6600, see here:

BB5 and DCT4 refer more to the underlying hardware technology, particularly the algorithms used to unlock them and the hardware needed to upgrade the firmware (flash them). The 6600 is DCT4 and N70 is BB5.

My Symbian.com include the Series 60 phones:
