Poor bluetooth range (K750i)

Has anyone come across a very poor bluetooth range on the k750's and have any ideas? When i say poor i mean unless the phone is right next to another phone / handsfree i get nothing!

I got this phone yesterday and it had a worn housing so i spent an hour changing the housing, flashed it to remove Orange branding and unlocked it. Trouble is i dont know if it was bad before or if i have done something when changing the housing?!

Any advice appreciated ;-)
