Hi,I want to ask you all if for "full backup" of a nokia 3310 means backup both 00200000 to 003D0000 and
003D0000 to 00400000
or there's something else to do/write(imei,code...)

Second question:If I load a virgin eeprom do I need to re-set only imei or there are other parameters to work on?And again, can I take eeprom backup from a modded telephone and copy on other one but with an original firmware(are flash[mcu+ppm] and eeprom strictly connected?)

Third question:in eeprom what's save on?imei is there?

Thanks to all

Hi,

a good backup should contain the areas between 20.0000 upto 40.0000

From 20.0000 upto 34.0000 there is the MCU, the Micro Controller Unit or in simpler words, the running instructions.

In every 3310 the same.

From 34.0000 upto 3D.0000 is the area specific PPM packages, which are language specific text, providers, character conversion, T9 sms etc..

From 3D.0000 upto 40.0000 is Ur 'personal' backups, called the eeprom and/ or PMM datas.

Those are the most essential part of Ur backup and contain Ur phone's specific settings as eg Ur imei.

thanks 4 answer but now I've another doubt..using Flashimei by MrBrdo you can set new imei(and read the current) giving to the program a .fls file so imei is saved not only in eeprom(.fls that I use is a backup of mcu and ppm)!!

what do you think about it?

Hi,

Ur imei is in the eeprom part.

Written twice, one time as plain, and one time in a coded (xor'ed 65) version.

Adr: 1D.0032, Len: 0008 Imei Plain
Adr: 1D.0162, Len: 0008 Imei Security

I dono that tool U are mentioning, but my experience tells me that it's impossible that imei is in the mcu&ppm part only.

(unless U use my special patch, which is still supposed to be a secret to all of U, while I not support people changing their imei's)

Very long ago there was a tool called nFree 1.2, that in my opinion did the job ok when using a full 2mb flash, but only on 1 specific phone type, from my head 3310.

But somehow U will get stuck on another problem which is after changing imei this way, U are omitted to recalculate the 2 eeprom checksum too.

There the tool failed.

So in case U wanna change Ur imei, best is to do it via the tools who do so via mbus datacable.

I dono from my head which tools are able to, but possibly kNok, Eeprom tools or pclocals will have such options.

I'm just telling the advice, whetter U do it or not and whetter it's illlegal or morally rejectable will be Ur own decissions then.
