Hi all,
Sorry, I know there's already been a lot of threads of people asking for help unlocking their 6800a phones, and no one seems to be able to help, but it's worth a shot. I bought an AT&T nokia 6800a off of ebay and would like to use my Tmobile SIM card in it. I thought it would be no problem because I can choose cingular & other networks in manual selection on my other 6800a, but when I insert my SIM card it says 'phone restricted' and it turns out the phone's locked.
I tried using the unlock.nokiafree.org generator, but the two codes I tried (for model 6800 in the dropdown) didn't work, using tmobile as my carrier and asic 6 and new griffin as my gen. I don't want to try any more without some advice for fear of being locked out. Any help asap is appreciated, otherwise I'll return this phone on ebay.
Thanks,
Jordan

So I tried this site:
http://www.peters1.dk/webtools/nokia/nokiaonline.php?sprog=en
and it worked better. However it still doesn't work on the new phone! Just for the heck of it I tried it on my old 6800a and it unlocked it in the first try. The first code generated for the new phone doesn't work though. The site says, 'if that code didn't work, try this...' but I only have one more chance with the new phone. Should I try it??

---
Both phones have the same type, NSB-9, and model numer, 6800a, however they have different imei and 'code's. The new phone also has an aws part#, which the old one doesn't have.

that's because that site generates codes using V2 serial which was blacklisted back in November 2004 :-o and since your old 6800a has a firmware prior to that it unlocked with no problems

PS: of course considering using the correct MNC :P
