Used your unlocker on a Nokia 3100b from USA - was locked to AT&T Wireless, got the codes, put 1st code in, phone displayed either: “code accepted or phone unlocked” quickly, - turned it back on, with new Sim card in, still said: “AT&T“, & also: “no network coverage” when tried to call out, & people calling in.
..... Used the unlocker again, - used last code this time, the display after code inserted was :
............"PHONE UNRESTRICTED" (OR "NOT RESTRICTED"), HOWEVER, when I put my local (Australian) ‘Optus’ Sim card in the phone, still displayed on first page again “AT&T” and also displayed "No Network Coverage" - unable to ring out or receive calls - just to be sure, I repeated the complete process the following day - same result........ What ya think?
Regards & Thanks

Bandwidth issue

Your phone is 850/1800/1900 as it is american specific "b"model

The network you are attempting to use is 900

Bad Luck!

Your phone is unlocked otherwise it would not accept the SIM

Over in Asia, China, Australasia 1800 is pretty scarce

You can pick up a cheap telstra or optus GSM phone and unlock it, however look up the model first in case there has been issues!

Is it easy/possible/cheap to change 850 to 900 bandwidth, or not really worth it?

Please, clear your double post when you come again ;)

Let's see... yes, it is possible. However, doing so is not only a software issue, but also a hardware issue.

The equipment and skills needed to change the frequency of the phone would involve so much work, and so much money (since you need to change frequency filters, a couple of ICs, a microsoldering station and a hot air station, and after that a flasher to replace the firmware with the one of the frequency you want it work in), that is better to sell the phone overseas or keep it until you can sell it to someone and buy a new phone.

Really... unless it is for experimenting, for practical purposes it's impossible.

Your best solution is, as I said, sell it overseas or buy a new phone.

Sorry for not bringing better news.

Best regards
Edge.
