I have a Nokia 6600 handset, locked to the Orange UK network, and I'm trying to get it working with my Dutch pay-as-you-go SIM in Holland (T-Mobile).

I entered all my details into the unlock calculator, said it was locked to Orange UK, chose GEN=V2 because my firmware says it's V3.49.2, and it gave me the list of seven unlock codes.

Having never unlocked a phone before, I thought that you could just use any of the codes so I entered code #1. Excellent, I get a message saying "SIM restriction off"! But then when I put my SIM back in, it still said "SIM card rejected". :???: This SIM works in all other phones that I've tried it in (none of which were locked).

Googled for a bit and found out what each of the seven codes is for. Tried entering code #7 to remove all locks, but I get the "Code error" message every time (think I'm up to three tries now). Checked, double-checked and triple-checked that I'm entering my details correctly, and seems fine (plus the fact that code #1 worked the first time that I tried).

Does anybody know how I can solve this? I read somewhere else that if your phone is already unlocked then you get the "Code error" message even if the entered code is correct, and I have removed one of the locks on my first attempt, so could that be why?

Try entering code +2 from the same list of working codes

Sometimes Orange GID lock their handset!

Cheers, I owe you a pint! :-) Had thought about trying one of the other codes, but with 5 to pick from and 2 tries left I wasn't sure which one to go for, but #2 worked.
