if you just need 2 use your 6280 you can get a pay as you go simcard and put it in your pay monthly phone thats locked to 3. It will work and if you get it registered it may be easier asking for the unlock codes if you are a registered user :D

I recently purchased a Nokia N91 locked to Vodafone Uk thinking I could have it unlocked easily enough on this site via a remote unlocker. Seeing as I cant I contacted the seller and asked if he could request the Unlock code from Vodafone. He did this and said it can take up to 48 days for Vodafone to send the code and at a cost of £20. Does anyone know if this is correct or is he trying to shaft me?

I got my code from Vodafone shop for a second hand 6680. It took less than 10mins and cost £15.

You need to approach your network operator to aquire the correct subsidy code

If you ring Vodafone yourself they will send you a Pay As You Go SIM for free. Once you have this and have made a call with it (proves the IMEI is your phone), ring them and say you are going on holiday and want to use another foreign PAYG SIM. They may charge you 20 quid but it should only take a week before they post you the Unlock code.

Seems a bit stingy from Vodafone but the 4 operators in ireland are so slow at releasing the BB5 models over here and I just had to get an N91 when I saw it on nokia.com. Also I am on o2 but the phone is Vodafone branded, is this just a theme or does the software on the phone need to be changed? :roll:

Most if not all Vodafone Live phones are locked to the relevant provider and customised to the particular market the phone is being aimed at

Vodafone UK will unlock its phones for £20 which is a fair price in my opinion considering that some UK networks want you to buy the contract out in full

PS Things are always more expensive when you live in a small island!
