Nokia 6280... questions.

Hey peeps...

i just purchased a Nokia 6280 *Unlocked* cell phone from mobilebee.com
have yet to recieved it , though generaly they promised it's unlocked, and shouldn't have any problems with it, hopefully! *Crossing fingers*
wanted to ask a few questions..

1.what is BB5 ?

2.what's this "3" version everyone's talking about, negatively... which is some sort of bad luck apparently to all owners of 6280?

3.I know a cable is suppose to come with the phone, is it hard to use?

4.what software is better to use with the phone ? is the software nokia provides with the phone good for transferring stuff?

5.i'm planning on upgrading the firmware to Orange's hebrew firmware too so i'll have hebrew capabilities such as reading hebrew myself, i know that over here they'll do it for free i guess... no biggy.

6.is there any place where i can see a video example of video sharing with the phone? maybe a video recorded from the phone to see the quality?
dying to get some more videos from the phone...

i bought a 256MiniSD card with the phone, hopefully finding a few other 256minisd cards from people with old cams :D always bump into those.. :D

Moved to BB5 General section.

1. BB5 is the new Nokia technology. Phones like N series, 6630, 6680, belong to this technology. They are known because they can't be unlocked by any method except buying the code from your provider -meaning the provider to which the phone is locked to-.

2. 3 is a network, I think it is from UK. The name refers to the 3rd Generation of digital data transmission, that nows allows for video streaming and transmission, etc.

3. No, the cable is not supposed to be of any problem. It's just like any cable of any device, it's used to connect the phone to something, most usually to a computer. Of course, you'll need the driver and the software of the cable, both of which you can find at www.nokia.com

4. Yes, the software from Nokia (PCSuite) is good enough, though it is slow. But it's free. There are other options, like Oxygen, but it's a commercial software. For free, the best option is PCSuite.

5 is not specifically a question.

6. I think google will help.

By the way... for more info in any of these questions, probably Google will be a better search option.

besides that, what type of format for games for the 6280 series?
JAR/JAD too? or is it something else?
how about software?
anything you would reccomment?

BB5 phones use Symbian OS, so I recommend you browsing through that section. Also, consider using some web search engine to find sites with symbian apps and games.

I can't recommend you anything since I don't use a symbian handset... but look at symbian section and you will find what you are looking for I think.
