Hi
I'm new to unlocking, but have just got a 6230i IMEI <removed>
locked to Orange uk.
I have some unlocking software which produced the following codes
#pw+<removed>+1#
When I enter the code nothing happens, no messages etc. Do i need to press enter or something when I have entered the code? :-?

With this model you have to have your SIM card in the phone when you enter the codes.
I am having a problem with this model too. I have used up 4 goes!!! the phone is uk orange locked with imei <removed>. It is definatly a 6230i with type RM-72 on the label. The unlocking tools I have used have only mentioned they were applicable to the 6230 (no 'i'), so I'm not sure if I used the right tool.
I've only done this once or twice before. I wonder could someone with much more expertise than me give me the exact code to put in. ( for info, I used the new griffin set and the v2 set)

Both GENs you have used are out of date... try using a newer GEN, like ONE or Original. Of course, there's no guarantee it'll work, but 90% positive chances.

I can confirm that worked for me with a 6230i. Using the online code generator at http://unlock.nokiafree.org/, I selected Model 6230, Network UK Orange and GEN Original and with the sim card inserted, code #1 worked.

Just thought I'd let you guy's know that I had a NOKIA 6230i locked to orange UK. I used the online key generator:
Gen was set to 'Original'
I entered the correct IMEI number for my phone
I selected 6230 as the phone model
The phone unlocked with the #1 code first time, with the new vodafone sim installed in the phone. I now have a very happy GF, with a new phone on VODAFONE, thanks orange :) :D

hi.. just a quicky to express my thanks!
the search option on this forum helped a lot..
I have a dutch nokia 6230 running on T-Mobile locked.. tried codes for hours and hours untill i noticed a tiny little mistake..
I was trying to unlock the phone without the simcard.
Out of pure frustration i inserted the simcard and re-tried code nr. 1 from the online calculator thinking.. what the hell.. if I mess anything up i'll have to go to a local shop anyhow..
and what do you know.. it unlocked on the first code..
don't know why, but i read somewhere earlier in the morning to remove my (working) simcard prior to punching in the pw-codes.. don't know if it's the smart thing to do, but for me inserting the simcard actually made it work.
Might be usefull for some other desperat 6230 owners.
cheers
Tim
