You must change hardware first.

is there any way to update 2 either without changing the software? cause this ones chipboard does look alot differnt then my other 3310

No coz the software is always the main difference between 2 phones... you can't find 2 different models w/ the same software, it would be a nonsense...

what are te differences between this 3310 and your other ones?
I know that some 3310 have larger memory, and can be upgraded to 3330 just by flashing. I've never heard of other hardware differences...

well it has extra spots on the main chipboard for a differnt keypad, but these keys are hidden under the screen (obvisously) and i dont know how big the flash memory size is cause i dont know how to find out....

Dunno for keypad.
For the flash, read the number written on the chip and make a search on http://www.google.com .
There should be no problem finding the size. You could also have a look in the service manuals of both 3310 and 3330 to see which one should be in them.

my other 3310 has UB4_12 on it :S does this mean it can still go 3330 or 3350?

16 Mbit (2Mb) Flash memory. If I remember correctly, it's the standard for a 3310. You need 4 Mb for 3330 software (yeah, wap takes a lot..)
Don't know for 3350 and 3410 unfortunately... and unable to find the service manuals for these :(

@Kilrah: Pls tell us what hardware version of 3310 have 4mb memory. I was unlucky to find such a phone.And where is it sold anyway? I mean in what countries have 4MB phones been sold? And what is the chip number of a 4MB flash? Pls help..

OK. first I don't know the HW version, because if you find a 3310 wiht 4mb, it's not a real one... I've heard that when 3330 came out, Nokia stopped making 3310s (or slowed down production). Bad luck, because it was a moment where demand for 3310 was high. So they just took 3330 boards, on which the only HW difference is the size of the flash, and sold them with 3310 SW and cover... easier to do than to restart production for another board.. So I think you could get them anywhere, or mostly in the last country they came out in, and if you are VERY lucky! There mustn't be a lot of them around...

For the part number, if Nokia bought 4mb flashes from the same manufacturer, the model corresponding to the 3310's one but with 4mb is M28W320BT. But it's not 100% sure, because in mass production, it's not rare that a component is not available for some time for some reason (manufacturer can't keep with demand,...), so they could have bought their flashes somewhere else.

Anyway, if you find one of these 3310-30, let me know! I haven't seen any either, because all my friends who had 3310s had bought the first ones, when Nokia's problem hadn't happened yet.

well thats odd because here in the UK, they dont sell the 3330 anymore... but instead we have 3310, 3510 and 3410

the 3310, have got the 2mb chips and are v11 or v12 mainboards.

so i dont think that quite sums up about they stopped making 3310...

I havnt seen any 3310 with 4mb chips, and I have 7 3310 ranging from v9 to v12 main boards, all with the same Flash chip and none will accept 3330 firmware... I have checked.

So... I dont think that you will find a 3310 thats got a 4mb chip, that wasnt sold out of the store as a 3330.

Or if you do.... your a very lucky person indeed.

i have try to with my 3310 and 3310 my brother, my friend... i had no luck.. finding 4 MB...flash ...

...but my friend have 3330 with 3350 flash , and he useing itu with out changing the hardware... like LCD, keypad board......he say that just fine with him with no down kursor and screen resolution , because he got the rithmicth LED...and other 3350 stuft

You're talking crap...

you cannot even see the menus on a 3350 without 3350/3410 screen, its all jumbled up, looks like the problem with 8210 screens and 'screenfade' and missing pixels etc, even worse though I think

Also, you aint going to have call and end buttons (green phone and red phone) so how do you send and recieve calls, when you dont have the button to start, end or answer a call... then we move on to mesages you cant read, or see anythign whne you type because of the screen is borked.... And you only have the UP key.

anyone using 3350 with low-res (3310) screen must be daft, stupid, or plain dumb
