Which cell has the best signal power? Help

Hi I'll be going to Kuwait (US army) for a year. I was hoping to use their local GSM network. I know signal towers will be hard to find so I need a cellphone that can get this signals good. Do you guys know any cell that has great signal strength or uses external antenna for extra boost? Thsnks in advance!
