I have a nokia 3590(old phone that has no service and used as a phone book type) and it gives me SIM card rejected and i tried the unlock codes and it work and then it locked again.All i want to do is get some phone numbers that i have on there.Am a newbie at this and i'll appreciate any suggestions on how to do it,if it possible and my apologies if i posted in the wrong place.Thanks in advance

if your phone returns "Cannot Undo Restriction"
It means your phone is hardlocked and you need a cable to unlock it.

sorry about that.unlock432 i did what you told me and once i enter the code it gave me the message "phone was not restricted" and then i get "insert SIM card" message and once i install the sim card in again i still get the "sim card rejected".I did remove the sim card when i entered the code, should i have left the sim card in it when i enter the code.any suggestions i just need the numbers that i had in there.also i can not dial and do anything,when i enter any number i get "emergency call only "message pop's up.Am trying to give you the most information on what happening with my.thanks

Hi,

"Phone Not Restrcited" basically means the phone was never locked.. or has been previously unlocked.

If you entered another Carriers SIM lets say..FIDO and your phone was locked, you'd receieve 'Unsupported SIM'.

Some IMEI barred phones recieve 'Sim Resgistration Failled', Im unsure if your issue is related.

Has this phone been reported stolen or lost?

Also...
When your Reived "Sim Card Reject" is there an Option Saying "UNDO" and the right softkey can access it?
If so, Press it.
It should ask your for your Restriction Code, or something similar.
Now enter the +7# code, 15 Number only. <so ignore the #pw+ at the start and the +7# at the end.>

basically i had the phone and i did not renew my contract with rogers.i had no problem with it, i had no network service but it ask me for the lock code and i could not remmember the lock code and then it asked me for the PUk code and i also could not remmember and once i enter the worng codes then the sim card rejected came up.It's the same sim card that was in there before with no problem.there is no undo button, i just get sim card rejected and the battry bar and i just can enter numbers.I also tried entering the numbers only and it did not work.I could any a phone numbers and when i press the call key it gives me the message "emergency calls only".thanks for you help

That's why it's so hard sometimes to give the correct answers; because people don't give complete information of what they've done nor what messages phones display. :mad:

Entering wrong PIN more than 3 times asks for PUK and entering wrong PUK several times generates the message you saw. Now you must call the provider althought i'm not sure if blocked PUK can be disabled.
