Motorola gold sim unlock

Does anyone know anything about the Gold sim that can unlcok motorlas when inserted into the phones?

I have a gold sim card and apparantly when put into motorola phones you enter a combo of numbers and it can unlock the phone.
I know nothing about it and cant seem to find anything on the net .
Anyone else heard of it or used it.
