6170 active flip repair

Hi, I have a completely working 6170 except the screen does not shut off when the clam is closed. What mechanism is it that creates the active flip?

there is a magnet in the top part of the flip and a reed switch chip on the board in the bottom half...

sometimes the reed switch chip is faulty and needs replaced, or if you have changed the housings then maybe you forgot to replace the magnet in the top half!?
