I flashed the phone after cleaning it then changed the cobba chip since it is contact service, it has a bad msid and faid cannot be updated. After changing the cobba, faid was updated but still the IMEI cannot be changed. I used Nokia Tool by Rolis, EEPROM repair for DCT3 phones by Dejan, and NSE Original IMEI Changer ASM-C by PRO to change the IMEI but haven't got no result. I never had a problem changing IMEI before w/ these programs.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

hi..
it should be o.k. after uploading virgineprom...but if you r sure phone wont turn on after uploding..so try to replace another COBBA(most cobba are faulty) or check FLASH ROM..tx..__jero__

The phone should start start even when the IMEI is 65656565656565, so the IMEI can't be the problem.

Rolis 4.78 did it!!!

Damian, the thread you referred did help. I used rolis 4.78 and the flash file you attached and the contact service was gone, so now I was able to change the IMEI with the usuall program I use.

I think the reason I failed in my previous attempts in flashing virgineprom was the program so I gave a try on Rolis 4.78 and it worked.

To all you Guys, thanks a lot for your great help.

Glad to be a part of this Great forum.
