Ok, first things first i know this has been posted before, but everyones posts i seemed to have trouble with getting the software to work rite, and non seemed to include any drivers, so after many hours looking around i found the drivers for most of the dku-5 cables out there at the moment so heres my guide and i hope it helps you.

First of all this is the short list of the phones that can be unlocked using this method at this moment in time:

Nokia 6630 RAP3G v2.10E PA
Nokia 6680 RAP3G v2.0E PA
Nokia 6681 RAP3G v2.0E PA
Nokia E60 RAP3G v2.20E PA
Nokia E65 RAP3G v2.20E PA
Nokia E70 RAP3G v2.20E PA
Nokia N70 RAP3G v2.20 PA
Nokia N71 RAP3G v2.20 PA
Nokia N90 RAP3G v2.11 PA
Nokia N91 RAP3G v2.20E PA
Nokia N93 RAP3GS v2.0E PA

Say for instance you had a n70 like me, on the above list it says n70 rap3g v2.20 this basically means that that v2.20 is the highest firmware the software will go up to, so the unlocker would cover v2.0x to v2.20 so anything inbetween it should work with no probs, when i unlocked my n70 its firmware was 2.0539.1.2, which it classes as 2.0. To find the firmware version, just press *#0000# on your phone.

Ok so now you have checked your firmware version your thinking what am i going to need to unlock my phone? Most posts out there say you need to have the sim card taken out of this phone, this is true, and they also say you need either a DKU-5 13 pin or a CA-43 13 pin cable this isnt, you can use a DKU-5 6 pin cable with as much ease.

Rite so now you have your phone and the rite cable, you need to install the drivers, i cant tell you which ones will work for your cable, you might be lucky with the first try, or you might need to install a few different ones, i had a lot of problems with this, so i just decided to install all 8, in the hope that one would pick up my cable, and it did, the driver i used was the ms3303h driver, just just try them, its trial and error really.

Next to install the bb5 unlocking software, download it from the files below. Extract and you will get a new folder with the files in run setup.bat and just confirm everything, this will install the software to your C: drive, once done extract the file bb5_com_changer.zip into the folder found on your C: route.

http://i19.tinypic.com/4kx7n09.jpg
http://i19.tinypic.com/4lxibsg.jpg

There are other help txt files included if you need them. Now once installed connect you phone ect, *fingers crossed* it recognises it and installes what it needs to, you can tell if it has by going into your device manager as shown below looking under the tab that says ports as mine shows it says usb to serial bridge (com3) you need to make a note of the com number that its been assigned for the next step.

http://i16.tinypic.com/688w775.jpg

Before running the unlocking software double click on the file with the same number as the com port you made a note of earlier. As mine was com3 i will double click on 3.bat as this relates to com3, follow the instructions that appear, and confirm.

Now if all has gone ok make sure you phone is plugged into the computer, and it is turned off, it must be turned off to start it properly. Open the Unlocker now, named BB5logunlocker.exe If you havent set the rite com port, or it cannot connect through the cable the program wont open. As you can see from the screenshot the program is working through com3.

http://i14.tinypic.com/4qxrzw0.jpg

Now turn your phone on, when the nokia logo appears press the read phone button, within a few seconds you should see you data appear. If it works ok, then go on to press make log, This should take about 5-10 seconds and you should see waiting.... while its reading, once its read ok it will display done again at the bottom. You need to then keep this unlocker program open. Naviagate you way back into your bb5 folder and run the program named BB5_calc.exe follow it steps and confirm, this will make the password file that bb5logger uses to unlock your phone

http://i13.tinypic.com/6aqse1x.jpg

And finally, if that logs ok, press sp unlock and wait, it will do its thing again and hopefully you should have a fully unlocked bb5 phone!

Hi - thanks nice post.
I am using XPSP2 and using DKU-5 with 13 pin, my cable is appearing within device manger as Kingsun > USB (COM 4) right and i tested by installing Nokia PC Suite and was able to connect to phone, however, each time i launch Dejan BB5 software i get "Bad connection error, turn phone on or off" msg.

Note, I did install the Dku-5 software from Nokia website and later installed one of the drivers you listed "MS3303H'.

So your worry now how come PC Suite and Logo manager are able to connect to phone but not dejan software, any suggestion will be appreciated.

thanks

Have you got the files in the correctly named folder in the root of c: ?

I'm currently having an episode with my cable(s) - got a 6pin and a 13pin dku-5 neither working yet.

6 pin is a prolific - so no chance there, and I can't get the driver to work for the 13 pin.
Although I have had a standard usb2com driver work as far as reading the IMEI in BB5 unlocker, then it says there is a communication error!!
- Just downloading this 'ere pack of drivers, hopefully that will help.

stupid thing is an ArkMicro.

Apparently you can't use that cable either?! - sounds like a load of rubbish excuses to me - how many more clone cables are there?!

Fails with a "bad connection" error when trying to make the log.

forget all that dku stuff.....
all that is needed is ordinary COM/SERIAL CABLE,,,(any1 will do-as long as you know the TX,RX and GND is for that prticular cable u using)just get connector,,,(nokia headphone conector wiil do)...cut phone connector end off your serial/com cable.then connect ur nokia pop port connector.to the serial cable end.....
u only need connect TX,RX and GND..put 2 com 1 or 2 whatever,,,write in software ur comport number(either1 or 2) ur in bb5 unlocking land:))))
away u go.....
pinouts i posted lots of times use search.......
100% working,,,,,,,,100% easy

Hi I have Nokia 7390,

I am trying BB5logunlocker.exe. My phone is connected to pc using dke-2 usb cable. In device manager in Ports node it shows nokia 7390 on com3. I have provided com3 in log/bb5_unlocker.cfg file. When i run BB5logunlocker.exe it open the program with com3 displayed. On clicking read phone it says wait and then nothing happens for hours. It doesn't read phone info.

I have NSS installed on my PC. It reads phone and generates pm file for all section and keys including 308. Could you help me run program properly.could you let me a sample log file then I would manually write a log file in logs directory using NSS pm file. may be this can help.

None off your download links is working

@theem
alas no,n80 u need a paid for box,and from what i understand, its really awkward,as it involves slowly scraping away, the black glue stuff,to reaveal the 2 test points,
i have a n80 myself, but until another easier solution comes about,or even better a free solution mine will stay locked:).
your best bet,is to contact ur provider, and ask how much for unlock code,i know three network, charge £115 if you havn,t been with em for 12months(on contract).and then there av been stories of them giving codes that dont work,.as for the other providers, you,ll av to check.

Just a quick question to you people.

I should be getting a 6630 soon locked to either 3 or Orange (UK)
If I unlock the phone using this method then debrand and update the firmware, would the phone remain unlocked? I know that with the old DCT4 the phone would usually re-lock itself but from what I can gather, the network lock data is not linked with the firmware in the BB5 gen. phones.

Just thought I'd ask to double check this!

Andy.

no that is ur software version!!!!!
v2.0x refers to the type of rap3g cpu in the phone, dont worry bout the v2.0x thingy, just what is your model(ie. n70,6680,...etc).go by ur phone model...
example:
like all N70s have a rap3g cpu v2.20, so can be unlocked,,,,etc etc...look above for the list

look at picture it is a v3.ooe (cant remember what model this is),but this model will not work with the unlocker.
hope i made this clearer for you,,,,,go by your model, forget about rap3g numbers.

I have two NOKIA phones that I would really like to unlock. I was a member of T-Mobile for many years, but left them under less than idealic conditions. So the prospects of them giving me the unlocking codes are less than zero. I have been trying some of the other sites, but keep coming up short. Hopefully you can help.
Phone #1, 6133 RM126
Phone #2, 6263 RM207
I think that both are bb5 models? If I could confirm that to start with, would be helpful.
Then I will move on from there.

Folks,

I am not exactly sure how the USB driver works in the unlocking software but I can say that the DKU-5 cable has a chip in it responding to usbserial vendor=0x0421 product=0x0800

The CA-42 cable also has a chip in it and responds to usbserial vendor=0x0421 product=0x0802

From what I can gather the DKU-2, CA-53 and CA-70 cables do some sort of conversion from USB to the phone which is not recognised by the PC unless a phone is connected.

DKE-2 and CA-101 cables are simply USB to MiniUSB cables with the latter having the phone charging capability.

Hope this helps some of the connectivity issues
