Does anybody have some experience with "floating MSID"? Everytime I run logger (Doesn't matter if Koci, Bfreaks or my selfprogrammed) I get a different MSID. It starts with same number but the next are different. Does it have to do with my lasting problems after flashing my 6210 with ver. 5.56?
thnx

hi,
hmm...that seems strange, but i heard about it...how can FAID be calculated, if the msid changes everytime you read it?
well, check your msid with my program attached, especially COBBA, COBBAID and FLASH CHK...
please post the results...
greets,

Hi!
MSID is actually random number that is allways generated with same seed number.
First byte of MSID tells you the ROM version.

Hi!
I came across the same problem, and our friend Abe, gave the solution:
After flashing MCU&PPM, calculate imediately faid (i used eeprom tools 3.0 by b-phreaks, it was posted in this phorum in the last 2 weeks, in case you don't have it).
The Abe's explanation is that every time you put a sim card or read the phone MSID changes...
see: http://gsmsearch.com/nfree/nfreeboard/read.php?f=1&i=4276&t=3741
and read Abe's post.
Bye.

Well I only asked because I am still fighting the broblem with lost WAP functionality in my 6210 after flashing v5.56. I tried also reflashing with 5.44 but no success. Settings ae showing strange characters of dial number and IP adress.
I tried Special Factory Settings but it also didn't help.
