hi
to remove CCONT with glued , i used (hakko 850) to set :

AIR : 3.5
heater: 3
if use temp. meter to test it with 2 CM, it around 260 ~280 C.,

first heat side of CCONT, till tin come out !
then continue to heat CCONT and use knife to "VERY SLOW" to pull up CCONT !

almost all glue will stay in CCONT chip, PCB have few glue only!
then make AIR to 1, heater set to 2.5, then use knife to clean glue in PCB !

then clean CCONT chip upper all tin , and you can easy remove glue as like remove a paper !
you will need some goodluck
please send result

This is an old way to do people today are useing a new solvent which is called DY2 you leave on the IC for about 5 min and after you heat it up and remove like a normal IC .and for the cpu you leave the solvent about 15 min or so . ( this was realsed 1 month ago ) and its very easy to use but not to get :D :-D

i was just thinking that petrol is a good solvent which may work to clean off the security seal. i have not tested it but i am going to give it a shot in the next few days. AFAIK petrol will not affect the pcb or other components :) in small doses by the way dont go drowning your phone
:)

Maybe you could try and ask some carriers like fedex or LBC if they will allow the importation of Liquids, then we'll buy from wings. If you want we could share the expenses for the import.

Just a note to anyone who is removing glued components using the "heat and lift with a knife" technique described; USE AN EXHAUST FAN. Nokia ofiicially disallows the removal of glued ic's by it's service centres in that way because the smoke that comes of is know to be highly toxic and a cancer causing agent.

I'm not saying don't do it, but i wouldn't put my head over the top of the board and breath in the smoke, and i would use some sort of exhaust fan to suck the smoke away ;)

also, can anyone give me any info on the chemical mentioned (DY2), such as anthing written on the label, what i smells like, colour, manufacturer, country of manufacture, what DY2 stands for etc, or does anyone have it in australia?? thanks.

MaTaCaB

Thanks for your concern.

I still cant remove those glued components. And until now, I cant get my hands on that DY2 thing.

i tried all sorts of liquids, (Acetic acid, de-clogging agent even gasoline! Which in effect burnd my board to a crips :D

Pls let us know if you find anything about DY2.

For those who confuse about removing your CPU ic, Here is a new way to do it easily....

Let me introduce"GLUE REMOVER". This GLUE REMOVER is a water epoxy that can be remove glue at cpu or ccont and any ic stick with glue.

The method is easy. You just need a blower station, cutter and GLUE REMOVER.

You just put a few GLUE REMOVER surrounding the ic that you want to remove. Then ,wait about five minute and use your blower to blow it about one minute, after that use your cutter to pull it up slowly. Finally, glue will automatically stick at ic. I can guarantee the glue will stick at ic and it wouldn't stick at the board. So that you are non need clean the glue at the board.

This method is faster and easier. It only sell US$15.00 per bottle weight 50ml.

Courier Charges are depends on destination.

For more information, Please not hesistate to mail it at [email protected] or [email protected]
