3310 flash on 3300 and free memory 4 sms/phonebook

hi alll!!
is it possible to flash the 3310's flash on 3300 and use the free space for sms and phonebook entries? i think that with more than 2 mb of free space (3310's rom is about 1.81mb.. taking away picture messages, templates, languages.. should make it smaller) there is room for a lot of text messages...
it would cover two of the most annoying gaps of this phone: phonebook and sms...

i know it's possible to flash 3310's flash onto 3300 with a script for nokix..
isn't it possible to create a script to do this feature?

The 3310 uses 2MB. the 3330 uses 4MB leaving over 2MB of free space if you flash a 3310 onto the 3330 which can be done.
If all you want is a phone book and sms then why not make your own modded 3310 flash with NokiX and mail_suite.nrx. This will give you LOADS of space for messages.
As for the phone book you can use phonememory.nrx but it uses the eeprom to store names.

yeah i want to do by myself.. i alredy did a modded 3310 flash (very simple: 2 new games, advanced calc, rithmic leds, real backspace, fade leds and lcd invert.. plus, i've exported the 3 new 3300's ringtones tap dance funfair ecc..), but i didn't know about the mail script.. i'll test it soon ;)
and for the phonebook what does it mean that it stores names on the eeprom? do i have to flash in a particulary way? how many contacts can i store?

The mail suit uses a file system which is created in the flash. you can set this to any size you want from the free space. In the case of the 3330 you can have 2MB to use when using a 3310.

The phonememory script uses the original EEPROM space that the pictures and tones etc are stored. If you delete all 6 screensavers using adjust_nokia_screen_savers.nrx you can get about 130 names and numbers.
Just patch as normal and flash your phone as normal.

umh.. in 2 mb how many sms do you think i can store? just to know if it make sense to buy a 3330 ;)
for the phonebook, i think that removing tones, pictures, templates i should have a bit more space than 130 entries.. is it right?
i'm wondering of using it as main phone (i own a n93 :D i know i'm crazy but i love this phone!!)...

You would I think be able to store hundreds or sms in the file system.
Tones are not stored in the eeprom so would not affect the phonebook so if you remove the pictures & templates and even the OTA ringtones it might free up too 150 entries.

As for using as your main phone. Why not, its a good phone. I have a N95 but use my 3310 too.

so it's better to download from your site the empty eeprom and flash my phone with the modded firmware (ota ring, templates and pictures) plus the empty eeprom?
how can i do it with rolis (i use 4.77.. 4.79 doesn't work well on my pc)?

You dont need an empty eeprom. Using NokiX will fix the eeprom already on your phone.

You will need some script to re allocate the eeprom space for the phone book.
look in the NokiX forum for some more help with the scripts.

Rolis works fine on XP with userport.exe which allows you to flash your phone.

i cannot find mail system.nrx enhanced by yak (compatible with his file system..)

also, ho w to delete t9 lang? with delete ppm languages i am able to remove only phone languages :(

the mail suite unfortunatly was deleted :(
btw i've flashed my poor 3330 and it doesn't power on anymore.. i tried with untouched 3310 flash but no luck :(
i attach it to the lpt port, i can read and write without any problem the flash but i cannot power on after flashing.. :(
do i have to flash also the eeprom? how can i do it? unfortunatly there aren't walkthrough on 3310 firm into 3330 :(

ok.. i'm trying the "easy" way.. i have downloaded your 3310 standard flash 4mb and i'm trying to modify it adding just 2 games and rpn calc.. but it gives me error.. :confused:
