6101b not responding to unlock codes

I have a Nokia 6101b and when I try to enter unlock codes phone does not respond to the last # sign entered. I do not get a error or the normal unlocked response in fact it does nothing just like entering a phone number or such. I have not seen this before any ideas. Thanks

Get a NON-accepted SIM card and wait for the code dialog box ;)
