Blackberry show "invalid sim card" when its locked.
You can find your BlackBerry is "locked" or "unlocked" follow these process.
1.On your BlackBerry, go to Options, Advanced Options, Sim Card.
2.At that screen type MEPD (see note below) on your keyboard. A new menu will pop up.
If your BlackBerry has a SureType keyboard (71xx and 81xx devices) you will need to double-tap the P, so the actual keys entered become M E P P D.
3.Look for Network in the list.
4.If your device is "unlocked", it should say Disabled or Inactive. If it says Active, it's still locked to that carrier.
If you blackberry locked you can unlock it yourself from comforts of home without using any cable by blackberry remote unlock code.
You can get unlock code by any vendor or thrid party.
Thanks

Hello
you can unlock your Blackberry Storm by simple entering unlock code through keypad,After unlocking you can use your Blackberry with any GSM SIM card around the world, you can get unlock code by calling your carrier provider if you meet their requirement they will provide you unlock code but they takes 5-25 days in process. No one provide you unlock code free.if anyone provide and that code wrong please don't try to enter wrong code more than 1-2 times because Blackberry doesn't accept unlock code after 10 attempts.
You can get unlock code at cheapest rate by Blackberry Pearl 8100 unlock code provider. i hope this help
Thank
