Hi,

Just wondering, what do I need to invert the LCD display? I know it can be done with software, and I've heard that you just remove the existing silver polarizing film and rotate it, but I've tried it with a few 8210 LCDs and it didn't work.

Can anyone shine any more light on this matter?

Are you sure it didn't work by rotating the polarizing film? That's how it's supposed to be done. Try using another film from another phone. I tried that before when i inverted mine. If i just used the same film, it didn't have much effect, it just darkened my screen.

Yep, tried...
I think its' still gonna be easier if I just use software to do it :D

(uploading a modified 5110 ROM now to a test phone)

Hi....

To invert a LCD screen by manually is nicer but its harder to do this and to invert a LCD screen by software is easier.I've try this two type and in my opinion, manually is nicer.:)

Invert a LCD screen manually and change the lights into white colour. The best!:p I have tried this with a Nokia 8210 and it looks
great!

Thanks!

I got my film from here (http://www.logosunlimited.co.uk/inverted_screens.htm)

I think its better to get a new piece of film because on the 33XX phones the screen is not square so the film doesn't cover the entire screen if you rotate it.

Also that page has a How-To Guide.

pity I'm not in the UK... :p

and true, a new piece of film is required because the screen is wider than it is long -- so you don't want bits without film on the side :D

The Only Problem I could find with inverting through software is that if you have edited your flash file with blingking menus or anything that blinks in the screen, the whole inverting screen goes the opposite of the blinking character. What I mean is that it goes wild when a character is blinking on the screen like a cursor, or a charching mode, or if you have blinked something on your screen.

Hope someone can figure this out!!! Thanks!!!

yep, I'm using g3n0lite 1.6 already :D

I've foudn that it seems really fragile to remove the polarizing film on the LCDs. I tried with a broken LCD of mine; the LCd almost snapped. Is it that fragile?
