What programs and cables do I need to do unlocking and repairs on DCT-4 cellphones? Does any one know where I can get them or how to make them? Thanks

To unlock my 6310i DCT4 phone, I used an MBus cable (or an autoswitching one, but blocking the FBus Transmit and Receive contacts - pins 7&8), and the JIC Unlocker.

Theres a good guide available on:
http://www.phoneunlocking.co.uk/unlockingFaq's%20txt.htm

Worked for me!

Theres even schematics there for you to try out.

One of them is FBUS Transmit and the other must be FBUS Recive

Double check it. :)

Thanks guys for the reply. Is it difficult to work on DCT-4 phones?

Unlockings VERY easy! - plug the cable in, press the button and thats it.

Flashing and the rest also seems pretty straight forward. I've played around with a spare 6310 along with a 6210 (yes i know its a DCT3 phone!) and as long as you make backups, you should be ok. If you have any problems, then this forum and its excellent members always have the answers!

Oh - as for cables, for unlocking you need specifically an MBus cable for DCT4 phones - that cable plugs into the COM port (9 pin) of your PC. For flashing, you need a different type of cable that plugs into your Parallel port (25 pin LPT). I bought a kit off ebay for 20GBP that has loads of different cable head attachments for different types of nokia phones, and two seperate cables that attach to the PC (COM and LPT) - the head attachments then fit to either of the cables, and your good to go!
