As I know the nokia data structure of the mobile flash and eeprom, I think that the default picture messages are stored in the eeprom, so if you want change those pictures, you must edit eeprom contents.
Remember, if eeprom contents are not identical of program code, the phone says only "C O N T A C T S E R V I C E" !!!
Pictures might be also encrypted...
Good luck!
Pictures are not encrypted, i changed 2 of them but it's hard work they're all in the same format as the logomanager saves them so do this download from the phone any gfx (using logomanager), save it then open it in any hex editor then look for the same data sequence in eeproim and there you go... no contact service no shit like that, i just wonder who will code any proggie to edit them, i guess it's easy but i'm not a coder/programmer...:D
nearly forgot, same thing works with operator logo, group graphics, and ota ringtones...:D
now who will code such a proggie? i can code it but only for amiga platform (im a coder on amiga but not on pc:( )

sounds good...is anyone up for it or have they already started?
yeah coders, here's a job for you, code an eeprom editor...
i changed manually all the pictures in the eeprom of n3330 and it works fine...

What would the point of this app be? I mean all these things can be changed with logomanager....

but only temporarily
upload 14 pics to ur phone then do a factory reset
i bet they wont stay their
we're looking for a prog to make them stay by editing the defaults

Well changing with logomanager changes the images in the eeprom so changing these manually won't be any more permanent than using logomanager.
I'll look into this a little more though. If anybody can give me a reason why this actually would be useful, I might make an app.

The pictures must be encrypted, because you can't find them in the EEPROM. (winarm).

You are wrong. The pictures are not encrypted. They are stored in the eeprom in ota format. (at least on 3310)

I've started looking into the eeprom of my 3310. I'm gonna start using some of my spare time to make an app for extracting/adding information....
If somebody would like to help you can send me an eeprom for a phone I don't have (I have 3310 and 6210 and 6150)
Please don't send me virgin eeprom as I have these. What I need is eeproms of phones in use (ringtones downloaded, logos uploaded, etc)

How did you find them? I can't find them in Winarm...

Jupp. That's because Winarm only supports the image format for ppm/mcu. The ppm/mcu image format isn't the same as the ota bitmap format.
I found them this way:
1) I knew what images I have on the phone
2) I konverted one to ota bitmap format (used ImageMagick on linux)
3) I searched through the eeprom and found the ota bitmap
But as I commented before; There isn't any point in changing these manually since it's just the same as changing them with Logomanager.
I've started looking into the eeprom to make an app, but I gotta refresh my c++ knowledge. I've only been using java lately, so it's been over 4 years since I used c++
If you have any used eeproms on your phone of phonetypes I don't have, would you send them to me as a favor? I promiss not to steal your IMEI's ;-)

Hmm. I allready have the virgin eeproms. What I need is used eeproms. I other words slutty, knocked up eeproms ;-)
i don't know if you're already realized but all the pictures are stored twice in the eeprom 1st is the one you can change using fe. logomanger/or erase it, the other one is a factory settings copy...

Hi
Hey CYCLO thanks for the tip.
This is my 8250 EEprom with a oplogo ... I have been trying to change the size of the operator logo to the size of a picture message for phones without screen savers for a long time now and was unable to do this in the eeprom their are so many graphics the size 72*28 but i am not able to find any thing the size of the op logo 72*14 in the eeprom the only other sizes i see in the flash are 4803 which i think is 72*3 dont think these are the op logo size anyone couldcheck and see where we could change the size....

I thought that was the case. But when I checked it looked like logomanager changed both of them. Oh well. Guess I was a little too quick running the test.
