Help!!
Got a MBUS/FBUS switchable cable and having a few problems trying to read and send data from the phone

1) When the cables connected to phone and computer the phone won't power on - remove cable from COM port and it will

2) When powered on I get a message on the phone 'Accessory not supported'

3) I've downloaded just about every DCT-4 utility from here and other websites and when trying to read (or send) to the phone I get various messages all along the lines of the COM port is in use. I've got Data Suite 4.3(?) which works fine with IR but this also can't find the phone?

Any help would be appreciated before I rip my hair out!!:D

Is it an auto switching cable? - you probably need to disable it to either FBus or MBus to allow the software to connect properly - slip a piece of paper between the contacts you want to disable.

You've probably done this already, but with the nokia data suite, ensure that its disabled when trying to connect with the DCT4 unlocking software. Do this by double clicking on the system tray icon and unselect all the connection options - the sys tray icon should go grey, and youll be able to connect with the unlocking software.

Just an idea!

Let us know how it goes - I'm getting an 8310 on monday and will probably (ok, DEFINETLY) want to unlock it!

hi ive got an AUTO SWITCHING cable, and also get the error ACCESSORY NOT SUPPORTED, but the thing is that its not a fault in the cable it self, because ive had the cable replaced 2times its just the fone regonising a foreign accessory...but its jus 1 of those weird things you have to just work around!
